sikastag_1 689 Posted July 6, 2013 Report Share Posted July 6, 2013 Never had a prob matt just hate how you threaten people of being banned like its the end of the world when in reality within 5 minutes they can be back with a different username, should set it up so that if members can't get 5 other known members to vouch for them then they are gone, and any new members need vouched for would sort the problem out. It's a funny thing Grant; things get blown out of proportion very easily on here. Somebody earlier suggested that I'm forever locking threads that didn't need locking, but failed miserably to name a single one, and now here you are suggesting that I've been threatening to ban folks. Neither is correct In fact, I issued my first ban yesterday, and that was for someone who had registered under a different username after another moderator had banned him. What I do do, which some folks don't like, is make it clear that if people fail to stick to the rules of the forum, by for instance, continually using text talk, I will make use of the warning system and issue warning points that sometimes end up with a suspension. If any member is aware of a banned person re-registering under a new name, then hit report and it'll be dealt with. Luckily, we have our own version of Inspector Gadget on the moderating team who takes a perverse pleasure in sniffing out banned members and giving them the boot. As I said very early on in this topic, if you don't agree with the rules of THL then find somewhere else to post, but please, don't come on here and moan just because the rules are being enforced. sikastag_1 689 Posted July 6, 2013 Report Share Posted July 6, 2013 I understand there are rules matt, and I take nothing to do with the petty arguments about a lot of rubbish on here, I haven't paid much attention to who's mods as I normally only come on here on my mobile so don't see the name colour etc and iv only recently noticed your a mod when I seen a post you made, it went like this " if anyone else doesn't like it you'll be gone aswell" I felt a bit like you were puffing your chest out if you can do such a thing over a forum that's just my opinion and I'm entitled to it like iv said I never had a problem with you or any mod and you've never banned or warned anyone I know so my opinion has been swayed only on the posts iv seen you write at the end of the day the forum needs moderated no doubt about it but for me it could be done a bit more professionally. To be honest reading mods talking about banning and shining there finger etc I feel its a wee bit childish I don't think there are any youngsters as mods so as grown men its a bit annoying reading it and going by the topic I don't think I'm the only one that thinks this. You and Paulus joking about banning someone earlier on in this thread is a perfect example of what I'm talking about , I'm not desputing wether the guy should have been banned or not but to come on a topic and say beat you to it, oh I beat you once before etc etc, if youse feel the need to have a wee points war about things it could have been done in a pm. At the end of the day its only a forum I'm sure everyone could live without it there's no need to go on like your switching off a life support machine.
