Lab 10,979
Agree but its easy for folk to take the moral highground when there not got a chance of doing it. Plus alot of folk dont earn anyway near 60k and think its alot of money truth is 60k per year is good but it far from high paid Cookie Not high paid ffs!!! Come on mate we all know you like a bit of controversy but that's just nonsense. 66k is not high....????? What do they do to warrant getting that kind of money like? And your correct people do milk the system, usually not in greed but either to make ends meet or get a holiday or a nice car. If they got 66k for f**k all I'm sure they wouldn't need too.

Malt 379
They probably make double their salary from the status their jobs give them anyway by doing other things.. Plus they get paid expenses for all the things to do with their jobs that the rest of us have to fork out for out of our own pockets..

Blackbriar 8,569
Many Communist groups believe that MP's should only be paid the national average working wage(curently around £27,000), which would help ensure that the pocket-liners were deterred from entering politics. It would certainly attract a different calibre of candidate ! "Politics is the art of looking for trouble, finding it everywhere, diagnosing it incorrectly and applying the wrong remedies" (Marx - not Karl, Groucho!)
