Winter Game

I was thinking the same today there seems to be a lot of young about this year mate I'm seeing plenty of young hare/rabbit about even saw a muntjac last week for the first time in my area. It's about time we had. Some good game to go at though atb.

when I put this exact same post up I was branded a bit of an idiot,.................but if your going the same places for years on end ,.then you can tell a good year from a bad one and even tho disease or weather can strike at any time ................this year has seen a good young population of rabbits ,...even tho we all know that come September there wont be as many but it gives it a bloody good chance of helping the population

I think the last couple of years has been crap.this time last year fields were waterlogged.i had a walk round my permission late evening and seen plenty of bunnies kicking about.just hope the weather keeps the way it is and mixy doesent kick in and might have a better year fingers crossed.

I cant understand how people can run there dogs unless its new seed or had first cut ,...............the grass is high and I enjoy this time of year letting thee pups hunt up and take one here and there it just builds confidence and they take some finding and catching in the crops..........but the only places I can walk the dogs have rabbits so not a lot I can do about it.....

last year was the worstbyear i've evr had umbers wise, i would say that at the moment we are back to almost ahwt i would expect for an average year. plenty of time for that to go wrong though......

Nothing local to me,not seen a single rabbit let alone a young un ...desperate doesn't come close.

 

Might make you feel better to know it's looking grim here, not seeing any young at all and very very few rabbits. It's grim mate. Looks like it's going to be another season of driving, driving, driving. . . . . .
