Lab 10,979
Recall training Bird, ever bother with it...... Lol bllody hell Lab, thought there was thing else, he is norm good but as been said you got get them under control, when you meet people+ dogs. And prob because i am used to him and know he is soft, but like been said on here and by me bloody wife lol, he just to bloody big+ powerful to be out of control, i will keep on top of him from now on. Probably the reason I don't walk in public places mate. If I see anybody walking I usually go in the other direction... If I randomly bump into someone all dogs are called to heel until the person walks past. If there dog comes over looking aggressive it gets my boot landed on it. f****d if am paying a vet bill because some pet dog owner canny control there mutt...;-) Quote Link to post
bird 10,014
Daft pet owners have as much right as anyone to be out and about.. Any dog owner should lead up there charge, when approaching other dogs its just common sence.. If its such a problem for anyone they should not walk there dogs in public places.. Jmo thats fair enough Giro but what if the other dog owner leaves there's off the lead?? personally if they dont put there dog on i take mine back off the lead, as it can make things worse, plus if it's a big horrible fecker she stands more chance off the lead than if they attack whilst she is on it i suppose Dazz in that case if you dog getting attacked , well you would have to just drop the lead and it still could fend for it self. But with my pup Buck he is soft as shit really is, but he just to bloody big+ strong to be out of control, maybe start to go out just before it gets dark.! Quote Link to post
BIG G wheton machine 1,594
it would be hard to try n choke a outa control dog with a lead in one hand and punch the fcuk outa the owner with the other .most of these we fanny licker designer dogs suffer from small man syndrome and can be cheeky cnuts anyway but theyv as much right in walkways as every body else Quote Link to post

albert64 1,882
unfortunately ray were all bloody dog walkers but a big pup can be intimidating to two young girls and there pet that's why the recall has to be spot on when I go for a walk local I always take my little girl and the chuhuahua (labs gonna love that) I always put my dogs on leads if another dog approaches, but not everyones the same and the amount of dogs I've had to give a bit of boot leather too I've lost count of their owners want to put them on leads then, cos of the nasty man Quote Link to post

Bosun11 537
The woman next door to me has a Alsatian (or Shepherd as its fashionable to call them longer haired ones today!). Stunning lookin thing, bout twelve months old or so, problem is, like Rays he's a big daft pup BUT she has a habit of letting it follow her out the door when she's in the front garden and when going on a walk etc. Now we live in a tiny hamlet so the chances of it seeing some one are slimmer than most. When it does see someone else it goes nuts and rushes up barking that deep low Ali bark, the type that shits you right up, especially when you don't know it coming, then darts away staying, playing as a pup would out of harms way! Now I've told her, the other neighbors have told her but TO HER its a big daft pup, well she came unstuck the other day when it done it to the binman, same to his workmate the week before, boy oh boy did he give it to her, all verbal but this bloke spat it with venom...She shit and all the apologies didn't work with this one. Now for me, I know what its like on the receiving end and though I've told her and told her I still don't think she gets it BUT I have a 3 year old here who thinks every dog is a nice doggy and if she slips up and it does the same to my little girl an scares the bejesus out of her or worse, I will not be responsible for my actions.... I keep mine under control at all times in public places, which I consider to be the ten yards out of my village! Quote Link to post
AshR1 214
know how you feel, my dogs the same loves people and other dogs, she was trying to play with a little terrier and man was flinging his arms at her telling her to f**k off, nearly ended up having a scrap, funny thing was the people then saw my dad with his dogs the next day and said to him their dog was getting attacked by a lurcher the day before, couldnt be further from the truth, she's got a turbo tail and loves to play and they just had no clue if they dont want other dogs to play or be next to their dog dont walk them where other walkers are surely? 1 Quote Link to post

And they should deal with it or go elsewhere? FFS. Recall training or lead up. Just my opinion. 6 Quote Link to post
DeerhoundLurcherMan 997
Its the jumping up that's the problem. I don't take a lead with me and hardly see anyone, if I do my dog has a little sniff and that's it... It doesn't bother me my dog meeting other dogs while we're out, but if one jumped up at me I would do the owner the favour of teaching it not to.. Saying that if mine jumped up I would have him on a lead. But I understand the situation of him being a pup and the kid holding the other dog up. Mine used to jump up at me when I got home when he was a pup, but i soon put a stop to that. ATB Edited June 16, 2013 by DeerhoundLurcherMan Quote Link to post
chook1 184
What you have to remember is the DDA, if your dog scares anyone, doesn't have to do much and its not under controal IE on a lead or walking to heal, then you could be classed as haveing an out of controal dangerous dog. I normally walk mine when there's no one around, very rare I bump in to anyone, mine never run up to other dogs or people unless they know them, but even so if I do bump in to someone they go stright on the lead out of respect, I wouldn't want some strange dog running up to me and mine or bouncing all over them,so why should they want the same thing. 1 Quote Link to post
