Having a teenage daughter and your wife's mood swings to negotiate..... That's murder lol

between me and my other half there is 8 grandchildren between 2years & 10 years if any of my dogs present or future bite or try to attack any of them a one way trip is on the cards for the dog that does so don't care if i missed something somewhere once a dog has turned on someone i can't trust that dog it has to go. I try to socialise all my dogs from a young age but there is always a chance of a bad dog turning up or the switch is flicked and the light cannot be turned off till the vet is there and its pts that my opinion on the matter. My sincere thoughts to the little girls family.

I don't think Al's trying to say there could have or should have been any other outcome than what happened to the dogs after what happened to that little girl.. I know Al, and I know he is a very experienced keeper of a certain type of dog and I also know he has in the past taken on and dealt with other people's f**k ups when it comes to those certain types. It genuinely upsets him to see these dogs in the wrong hands, because while he loves and respects his dogs, he's fully aware of what they could be be capable of if not owned and managed appropriately..

What you gonna charge anyone with?......they didn't mean for that to happen.

They nicked that van driver in Croydon this week for dangerous driving after a mum left a baby outside in a pram and it rolled into the road......that bloke didn't want that to happen and I bet he is destroyed.

Why not nick the mum for neglect?

One thing I hate about modern society is that everyone's got to have a reason or somewhere to pin the blame......sometimes bad stuff happens for no reason, end of!!

Animals are NOT sentient beings, they are animals and will behave like animals.....never loose sight of that and more things like this could be avoided

It's all this misplaced " Love" that's one of the biggest problems, if you have a dangerous horse or dog or f*****g bugi put the f*****g thing down!!!

I really like my dog, but I would put him away without a second thought if he showed any sign of being dangerous to people in any way at all.....at the end of the day, it's just a dog!

I'd charge them for not being in control of dangerous animals. An accident is when someone is injured, that poor girl was savaged by 5 dogs the owner was irresponsible and should face charges and hopefully it will make all the chavs sit up and think about owning a 'had' dog.

I'll flip it for you, If you have a accident at work through your employers neglect injured or fatal do you think they should be let off as as you said sometimes bad stuff happens

An accident at work is not the same, if someone has total control over something and will fully neglects to do something which as a result makes that thing dangerous and they know it will then that's their fault.

The same as the person doing " the thing" has their own brain to say to themselves " this may be dangerous"

If you mend petrol pumps and smoke like a trooper while doing it, then yeah, I do think an employer should get away scot free......it's not their fault someone's an idiot, but in this day and age they would probably get prosecuted for not explaining well enough that you shouldn't be having a fag while dealing with petrol !!!!

We are talking about dogs.....an animal......with its own nature........no one has 100% control over an animal no matter who you are

As far as I can see the only " crime" here is that the owners are obviously idiots, but if being an idiot is a crime then half the country would all be shitting in a plastic bucket!

Come on WILF, those dogs were that woman's responsibility, as was the little girls safety from those dogs. What the f**k was she doing with something she had no control over? Complete lack of respect and responsibilty for the danger they possed. I wouldn't leave a serious lurcher in the hands of an inexperienced or physically weak person, that would be irresponsible and any aggro would be my fault, equally I wouldn't get an animal I couldn't handle.

As you've said, they're animals, some through and through born and bred killers. When something like this happens as far as I'm concerned the buck stops with the owner.

Mate, I agree with lots of what you say, but as I said, if being an idiot is a crime then people would be getting locked up right, left and centre.

Another thing I will ask is, who gets to make the decision over who is a good owner or a bad one?.......what, the police? LACS? RSPCA? KC ? The government?

Malt said that matey with the Rottweilers is good with dogs, say those dogs decide one day to take someone's head off?.....he can't control that, so should he get locked up......should I?.......should you?

Who makes the decision over who can own what type of dogs?.......or cars?.......or kitchen knives?.......or rat poison?

Unless everyone on here doesn't want some " official" coming round and telling them what dog they can or can't own then you can't make that call on other people no matter how terrible the circumstances are

The dogs went bad and were shot and rightly so

I'm not saying there should be officials going round telling folks that they have too many dogs or can't handle them, that's exactly what I don't want. I don't want more rules, I don't want licences, I don't want insurance....................... what I want is a bit of decency in my fellow countrymen, some responsibility and self respect. Leave it to individuals to decide what is and is not dangerous, but on their heads be it, because I would have them wholely and solely responsible for their animals actions, wheather that be a Polar Bear fighting Mastif or a ankle snapping Shitzu!

Apparently the owner of these dogs has a FB page where she advertises pups and boasted of their aggresive nature..she also stated on it that her bullmastiff doesn't like youngsters and has gone to bite previously...So totally irresponsible.

The white dog does not look like a bullmastiff to me , more like a Dogo Argentino, in which case the owner could be done for having an illegal breed
