i always thought these were 1 of the best looking x of lurcher so ive always wanted 1 just based of its looks alone . as not alot of hares here to be honest i live in somerset not the fens .

If its got tits, wheels or feathered ears its usually f**k all but trouble. ......

You just got to get on their wave length...once you're there they can do everything any other lurcher can......probably alot more besides.....   I expect mine to do the basics, be stock broken, list

You chose a Lurcher on what it looks like?

Well there is a good basis to end up with the dog to meet your needs in the field!

mine do what i want, ive noticed with saluki crosses you haveto work with them, some dont like doing certain things. one of mine wont retrieve he pins were he catches and waits for you, not a problem in my eyes work with the dog. one of them is a bit flighty around other dogs and anyone but me. one is deaf, not saluki deaf he is really deaf, really obedient trained to hand signals and does alot naturally asif he knows what your thinking. salukis arent for the unpatient.

Not for the impatient, that rules out about 75% of people on here then lol. Saying that, I personally couldn't hack one either, not that I'm impatient, I just don't like they're general demeanour, moody twats

you can only hunt rabbits .. any lurcher will catch a rabbit

but im sure if it was allowed a sal x might also take a hare or a roe

so why not take a lurcher that you like the look of

I like saluki xes. Im picking up a very well bred pup in the summer to run along side my feral one. I dont think theres any big secret to them. A dog is a dog when alls said and done. When mine first come to me most would have either sold him as "a well bred killing machine" or pts. But i put abit of effort into it and time and patience and its paid off. Plenty of lads on here have seen him run and he has that "something" about him.

Another thing ive noticed is so many lads will trace coursing lines till there minds boggled and will sit on here reading about fitness and feeding but to learn abit about training your dog seems abit too much effort to them. Atb

I've kept lurchers for a good few decades now :-( and now have my 1st two heavily saturated Saluki x's ..nearly 6 months old and to be honest upto press I've not had a bother with them,100% house trained, jump grand for their age, been in and amongst livestock from the day I collected them, never batted an eyelid at them, recall is A1 every time, carry back to hand ...holy shit both will even sit on command and give you a paw lol and that's the truth...I dont want my dogs trained to gundog standard,I just want them to eat, sleep, kill and do as their told in the main...these Saluki x's seem no different to any other types I've had if I'm honest....maybe I've just fell lucky, time will tell I guess? I just think there's so many men with dogs out there and not enough dogmen...there's a world of difference between the two IMO....Atb Andy

id say your out with your pups more than anyone is on here pal. practise makes perfect.

How do you work that out ........
