bracken boy 584
as a utd fan, right its over we are out, yes im a bit worried about these sort of blunders that refs make in the biggest of games as should not happen, the ref had time to think about what card so thats sad, anybody who does think it was a red is well not worth saying what goes on in your head, but hey i didnt want extra time this end of the season so onward to our next match and hope the scars heal quick.. baw 4,360
What you got to love about football and fans.... No one has actually commented much on the game. It's all about refs and pundits. Fergie will be delighted with the distraction from his team going out of Europe

NEWKID 28,652
Why should Roy Keane show any respect to Fergie or Utd, he used to "work" there thats all. He now works has a pundit and thats what he's doing being a pundit, whether you agree with him or not he's doing his job or would all the Utd fans want Keane to be a sychophantic wanker? Fair point Johnny he doesn't owe UTD any respect, they are just former employers...., I just think he knows it wasn't a red card.......FFS it plainly wasn't... but rather than say that he has to go against the grain and rub it in a bit, just my opinion..... at the end of the day he played the game harder than most, and knows what is and is not a bad challenge, if he was managing or playing for UTD last night he would be raging at the decision.. but he wasn't he was a pundit, with his opinion, right or wrong I just don't believe that was his real opinion... more a case of " I'm Roy Keane, and I'll say what I like".... Did you think it was a sending off offence? No I didn't Kev, thought it was a yellow tbh......big decisions in big games seem to be all the more common these days. I think the Keane thing is just a % of fans thinking that he should blow smoke up fergies/utd's arse but Keane has never bowed to anybody. He hasn't Johnny, your right.... That's why Fergie liked him so much I reckon ( well besides he was a top, top player at the time lol).... personally I dont think he should blow smoke up anyones ass, thats not him, but I really don't believe he thought that was a sending off... and by saying it was he is acting up or playing to the crowd a bit IMO, for some reason.. which is as bad as blowing smoke up utd's ass.... you would expect him to just say it as it is, I suppose??
gnasher16 31,506
I think Keane knows it wasnt a red.....but like anything else in the media you have to have a few controversial characters..............wouldnt be much of a tv or radio show if a bunch of blokes just sat around agreeing with each other would it................its like that dick Adrian Durham on talksport, yesterday he was saying Mourihno isnt much of a manager !!..............Keane is doing the same just going against the grain to create talking points in his mind he knows that wasnt a red...... As regards the referees i think a lot of them are trying to get in on the limelight of being in the football industry.....take that muggy Mark Clattenburg whatever his name is......3 years ago he looked like a choir boy, clock his barnet now he looks like a f****n pop star.......you run around blowing a whistle you big melt your not a showbiz personality.......same as these refs you see trying to be all pally with the players, makes me cringe. Refs are definately playing too big a part in the game at the moment in my opinion.

Rooney shouldv'e came on in different circumstances, and the bottom line is the ref changed the course of the game..... Real Madrid would have scored any way IMO, but for the 10 mins or so after the sending off, the wheels fell off and we just couldn't recover.....
tote 861
No mention of the Madrid "goal" that was disallowed, even Andy Townsend who's always a "homer" couldn't see anything wrong with it. Man U get more decisions than most, dry your eyes lads and move on.

"You big melt" Talking of dicks, why the fcuk is tha Chiles bloke fronting a sporting event as big as last night, Keane might talk a bit of shit but at least he's played the game..... The best ref's you never notice or hear about....
Malt 379
What I find funny is that ABU's despised Keane and everything he had to say when he was at United, but now he's come out and said something that goes against United it's 'Good old Roy, he knows what he's talking about!' Last night should have been all about the football. It's not very often a game like that comes along and I don't care where your club loyalties lie, if you care about the actual game of football you should enjoy it.. A few of the best games I've seen had nothing at all to do with United, Liverpool vs West Ham in the cup final a few years back and Liverpool vs Milan in the CL final back in '05 stand out in the mind.. IMO the ref spoiled the match last night.. Btw the same ref has also sent off John Terry, Steven Gerrard, Mario Ballotelli & Gary Cahill over the last few years too... Don't think the kebab eating c**t thinks much of the Premier league!
superfurryanimal 91
wonder what odds you could have had for a player being sent off in certain parts of the world ? think a bung my have been involved in that decision !

It's all about refs and pundits. Fergie will be delighted with the distraction from his team going out of Europe Thats just human nature.....it was the biggest talking point in the game and the major turning point.......before that moment the only thing to talk about was how Utd controlled the game and looked to be on their way through to the next round. Celtic whinged about being roughed up at corners against Juventus the other week in a game they lost 3 nil......that wasnt a turning point in the game but it didnt stop the whingeing because its human nature to get pissed off when you lose. baw 4,360
Yea gnash, that's why I said football fans and not Man U lol. I feel the competition loses a lot of interest for me once the British teams are out. I'd much rather see a Man U v Barcelona final than Real Madrid v Barcelona. For that reason I hope arsenal pull something out the bag. We are as good as out.

Mind you wasn't too disapointed to see City drop out early doors
