PoshPikey 560
Umm - you know he only does the voice-overs for these shows right?? So he is just doing the commentary. Some good footage but a lot of anthropomorphic nonsense too - take that fork-tailed drongo at the start - with editing you can make any animal look like it is doing anything. Also Meerkats live in Botswana not Namibia as suggested. Otherwise - very interesting.
Paid 935
I hear you, but i thought he said the meerkats were in the Kalahari, which is right ?
j1985 1,984
They are also in Namibia!

Matt3699 142
I thought they lived in stately homes Joking aside, I did really enjoy the show. Looking forward to the next.

If so, chuck an Ethernet cable into the back, plug it into your router and you can download the show in HD to watch on your TV from the catch up section. I don't think your 100% right there mate, meerkats are found in a few of the south western countries In Africa and the Kalahari desert in Botswana is where this program was set, they're also found in the namib desert in Namibia, Angola and South Africa I would say David Attenborough is far more than just a commentator, he has animals around the world named after him, and an encyclopaedic knowledge of wildlife which he has shared for longer than most of us have lived... He was the original innovator in wildlife television and he still is, coupled with the best camera men/ woman, techno geeks etc his programmes are still by far the best though... Cheers Kev
PeakOil 352
The Kalahari desert encompasses parts of Namibia, Botswana and South Africa, it joins with the Namib desert. The bushmen that live in the Kalahari desert are amazing, some of the best hunting and survival skills on the planet.

Most programmes like this are presented by generic TV presenter type idiots like Kate f*****g Humbel these days and it's nice to watch something that's being narrated by someone you know has dedicated a large part of his life and put a lot of effort into getting to know the subject about which he's commentating on..
