locators on terriers

Just a really random question.

 

Do people locator collar up terriers on general walks out just in case they go to ground or go down a rabbit hole so you can find them??

Blindly I never did, but you learn the hard way.

Earlier this yr I lost my dog over night,so I bought a b & f and he is fitted with that on a walk out.

especially rabbit holes more chance he will get stuck under roots or buiried alive and die.

the terrier that runs free wears the collar-but always have at least 1 or 2 spare

Put em on a coupling, they cant get as good of a run out like this but its better than losing a dog.

Thanks every one, may be worth my while as little dog went down the other night, just a quick walk as you do don't take any thing with you and the other half rings little ones started to be sick, come off phone, can see two but not little one. Tie other terrier up so I can hear and listen down each hole. The one I fine is a three holer, so used camera phone to take picture down hole so arms lenght down hole I get a gglims of her arse. No spade, getting dark, mates house nr by he's at pub so it was using a stick and hands, luckily sandy groud and I got 3ft down and shed gone further down. Now quiet dark and debating what to do but was able to call her out..

its always when just exercising or when you are meant to be somwhere like tomorrow morn for example, my little ones know most earths where i exercise doesnt stop them checking thow merry christmass
