Ey up

I`ve always been a bit of an oik,, and just used Hull special pidgeon for everything. I bought a new gun on Mon, and tried it using a 26g load, bloody marvelous, so I`ve picked up some Hull No6 28g to give them a whirl on my next pheasant day

Whats everybodies preferences ?

I have been using the 32 g 6`s but have put some holes in some birds lately,, I feel they are quite hard hitting on anything that isn`t stratospheric

Well let them get of the f*****g ground then you murdering b*****d!...... :icon_redface: I think your 28g is too light a load especially if your going to be standing too.........i can see plenty runners. Needing a good dog to take with you?.....

Hahaha The ground doesn`t make for very high birds Lab, I always try for the highest I can get and will let plenty past me mate,, S`just that I shot a doo that was hight and a half above the trees wi the Special Pidgeon and feking wrecked it. I also put a clean circular whole through a Partridge recently, but thats a different story.

I just feel I`ve been hitting birds hard with the No6 32`s

I've been using the gamebore Clear Pigeon 32g in number 6, ideal for those high birds. Good cartridge would defiantly recommend them.

I also use these for pigeon and crows as well, a good all rounder

I have been using these for a while and I like them. Had quite a bit of success with high flying crows that think they know the range of a 391 with full choke.

I like Hull high pheasant 30 gram 5's they seem a nice cartridge and the 5 shot knocks birds down well, if I'm going where there's high birds I use 32 gram.

If your guns a multi choke maybe you could try opening your chokes a bit if you think your hitting the birds too hard.
