  1. I don't usually go after the crows this time of year with the game season on and all. But, had a chat with farmer giles last week and he said that the crows were hammering his feed and needed them thinning out. I thought that I would chose the Remington 870 Express Magnum as the tool of choice. Managed to 18 all together in a couple of hours, the field was badly flooded following the lovely weather we've had in North Wales over the weekend so couldn't retrieve them all.
  2. You should get a really nice shotgun for £500 mate and if you're happy with it you'l end up keeping it for a long time. ATB SFA
  3. Fkn Hippies Most of them don't eat meat... and the ones that do decide to eat it raw off the side of the road!
  4. Hi mate Always a good idea to go second hand on your first shotgun, it usually means that if the gun doesn't fit you well the mistake is cheaper. Here's a link on gun fit http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jLLnGM3DXE0 Personally I would go for a decent Over and Under or Side by Side. You can get a decent shotgun for £100 if you keep your eyes peeled and be patient. I spent £500 on my first, it was a Winchester Parker hale O/U and I don't think I will ever get rid of it. Good luck to you pal SFA
  5. I've been using the gamebore Clear Pigeon 32g in number 6, ideal for those high birds. Good cartridge would defiantly recommend them. I also use these for pigeon and crows as well, a good all rounder
  6. This is why I never go on P.W anymore, bunch of third dimensional morons.
  7. Hi mate Its only a small shoot and can not afford to tip beaters. Each member will eventually need to posses a dog for this reason. Although there are uaually two beaters with dogs, they werent there on that particular day.
  8. Maby im a bit soft, but Id sleep better knowing the outside working dog was sleeping with some heat, whilst the missus's pet dog sleeps indoors next to the radiator. Have no problems with owners who choose not to use heat though, just personal prefrence. SFA
  9. Are these any good then mate? Have seriously considered getting one of these when Ive finished coverting my brick shed into a kennel/run. Another question is where abouts would you install it? High? Or low? Cheers pal SFA I bought one from Argos a few year back , and can honestly say it was wank,,, it would struggle to warm my pocket up...in fact 1 inch from it you couldn't feel anything".............. But maybe there are better ones out there, that thing I got was about 18 inch long,, I took it back the next day... Thanks for the heads up mate, might do a bit more r

  11. If you're going to buy a rubber stock boot, make sure you don't go for the cheapest. I bought a cheap one (about £8-00) for my Remington 870 and it ended up staining the stock! Not sure how it happened, but you can clearly see the outline of the stock boot.
  12. Hi Wyeman I totally agree, luckily I'l be buying the pup from a renowned breeder and trainer in my area. It was agreed that he would provide the training as well as the pup, couldn't think of anyone better to be honest. This will be my first gundog so eager to get it right (as much as I can). Cheers for the reply. SFA
