chartpolski 28,504
Evidently Patrick Moore was "an opponent of foxhunting"; but also a "critic of the European Union", so, in my mind, he wasn't all bad !! LOL !! Cheers.

chartpolski 28,504
When I lived in the middle east, my son, who worked for the British Embassy, phoned me on two occasions at my office that will forever stay in my mind; one time he called and said "dad, turn on the TV, they have killed Diana !!" The other time he called and said "dad, turn on the TV, they're bombing America !!"; the 9/11 attacks on the twin towers !! They are etched on my memory, and more to the point...who are "they" ?? Now that was a shock , I was watching him the day before on football focus , then cutting wood Sunday morning my mate who has no interest in football said "that footballer Gary Speed is dead" . . Still strange what went on between him and his Mrs , something we don't and probably will never know ! Steve Irwin was a shock though when you weight up the risks he took it shouldn't off been still terrible for his Family ! For me The worst thing , Bar Personel tragedy , was the Twin Towers , those on the Planes phoning there family's saying Goodbye . . I can't even start to imagine what they went through during them times , and those in the towers who weren't killed outright and where above the planes knowing what was happening to the degree off jumping to there Deaths FECKING HORRIFIC !! . . . And I'm told too Respect these Type off People who where behind this . . THEY CAN FUKC RIGHT OFF !!! Edited December 9, 2012 by lanesra

I was watching it on the big news screens at Schipol ready to get onto a flight back to Belfast, feeling very nervous and thinking ' how very unfortunate that that plane has just crashed into that skyscraper'........ Malt 379
I was taking warm, newly moulded fiberglass aeroplane seats out of their moulds in a factory and listening to the Chris Moyles show when the first plane hit the Twin Towers, I'll never forget it.. A load of us just stopped work and all stared at the radio in silence. Then the second plane hit..
