Who ever took that needs their heads seeing too. A photo like that as a limited edition print would make a mint. It is withouit a doubt one of the best wildlfe photos I have ever seen.

totally mate,you can almost hear them coming out that water.

One thing does purplex me about this "photo" why are there no ripples on the water at the bottom of the picture? The lead stag has been out of the water long enough for the ripples to have travelled 20 to 30 ft from the stags exit point from the water. Also where the other stags are swimming the ripples do not seem to be radiating away from where they are swimming?

 

Odd that.

I know nothing about red deer, is there a time of year when the stags only will congregate? Other spiecies do I know, I just do not know about reds. Anyone know?

at a guess, i would say it's a river they are crossing, where the rippled water meets the calm, is a wee water fall. thats why the ripples dont spread out.
