chartpolski 25,698
For two dogs, I'd say you got off lightly, compared to the Vets around here !! Nails; do them yourself, wormers; buy them off the 'net, (Vetmedics), a fraction of the Vet price ! Cheers.
paulus 26
total cost of jabs and wormers "assuming 3 tablets per dog" roughly £
FUJI 17,328
That's f*****g serious!! Then they wonder why animal neglect is rife these days? In today's current climate things are tough enough without them jumping on the bandwagon and charging extortionate prices...more proof of rip off Britain..why the f**k immigrants flock to our shores I just don't know? Gaz_1989 9,539
£5 at local dog parlour for nails cut. Wormers off Internet. Drontal plus. Did they smack your bottom while your pants were down?
Country Joe 1,411
I dont believe in boosters, never had them done, and never had any bother over the years. But unfortunately if I go on holiday abroad, I sometime use kennels, and if you dont have boosters or kennel cough on your certificate, then your stuffed. Even though difficult, I would do the nails myself and get your wormers like Drontol on line.

bracken boy 584
im not the best at cutting nails but as yet no injurys and 28 yrs on always done it myself, get the right clippers and a small light shine at back of nail and see the bloodline and clip just under or more road work,

skycat 6,174
Use one of these for their claws: http://www.amazon.co.uk/Wahl-Smartgroom-Nail-Grinder-Blue/dp/B00486DBL2/ref=sr_1_1?s=pet-supplies&ie=UTF8&qid=1353409554&sr=1-1 Even the spookiest of my dogs seem to accept the buzzing vibration well, once they realise it isn't going to hurt. Tie up dog and muzzle it too: restricting it in a non-violent manner makes the dog more likely to accept that you are in charge.
Country Joe 1,411
Certainly gets good reviews, I like the idea of the power being from the mains. I can manage with the clippers, but if you cant it could be worth a punt, end up cheaper in the long run, than using a Vet.
