The ban on smoking in public places, have you quit?

Smoking ban

  1. 1. Did the ban encourage you to stop smoking?

The smoking ban was intended to cut deaths and cancer rates by the cause of passive smoking. Reduce the temptation to smoke and even encourage people to quit.

Was it a success?

I put smoke less because even though I don't smoke less on an average day I sure do when I go out of the house and can't be bothered standing outside the pub or restaurant like some an outcast.

Going to have another bash at the patches soon.

It was not the ban that cut down my smoking, if anything I am inclined to spark up a crafty one when in a public place. f**k tha ban and all that. It is the f*****g price of 'legal' shop bought tabs that made me think what tha fook? When I can get smuggled baccy at a reasonable price I will smoke as much as I used to when it was more affordable. When I can't I cut down DRASTICALLY, or 'quit' for a while.

I pay the b*****d Government enough in income tax, NI, council tax, VAT, fuel duty, road tax and alcohol duty and no doubt some other excuses to dip their hands in my pocket I have forgotten about. So they can get fecked if they think I am going to volunteer to pay them even more money in tab tax.

I smoke because I like it, not because I want to chuck a few more quid towards keeping Abu b*****d Qatada in the style he has unfortunately become accustomed to. Same goes for alcohol, smuggled stuff or homebrew most of the time. Yes I am playing my tiny part in killing the pubs. My disposable income has fallen greatly over the last 5 years, so I have had to cut my cloth accordingly.

I put yes , but I stopped smoking just before the ban but I think it helped me not start again , smelling the smoke while having a beer being a real temptation

The PC brigade are out again, trying to dictate what we can and can't do, alter our ways of life to suit they're own agenda.
SACS are highlighting this and opposing it, see the link for further info.
Theres a questionaire you can fill in at the end if you have time.

I see she's back wanting another referendum...I had to laugh at the government response saying that she should honor the result of the original referendum...you couldn't make it up
