secretagentmole 1,701
Well this evening I was in the permission when the leaves above were a rustling, the first thing I saw was Tufty the Tree Rat. I had checked the HW100 was up to speed and zeroed, so I sent a 14.3 grain Crosman into the still leafy boughs of the tree, Tufty took up base jumping, he failed! Then I heard more rustling above my head, the flash of blue and white, the raucous caw, the fact that it was like a hamster on speed indicated one of the load of Jays was above me. These have moved in en masse, no doubt buoyed by the crops and plentiful birds nests in the woodland, time to reduce their numbers. One sat still, a moment too long! Finally a pigeon arrived, this is despite the damned great tractor busy shredding the field (kept most of the others from the roost, it was whining and shrieking like a pig having a bramble enema), must have been a deaf pigeon! I was able to get a good head shot off and the third species fell to the combine charm of a Crosman pellet and an HW rifle! Edited October 12, 2012 by secretagentmole 3 Quote Link to post
