I have given up using bodygrips - too fiddly and too many foul catches for my taste. ive heard loads of people say they to fidley etc ,and yet lot find them so easy to use,, and if set correct no foul catches . cornishtrapper 3
ive found very few foul catches with my bodygrippers and ive yet to find something cault corretly still alive unlike the last to squirrels ive found in brand new fenns cault around the neck and chest that ive had to despatch, ive found the bodygripper very versatile very affective, and the 120/2 to be awesome. woodga 170
body grippers set correctly have my vote easy to set and are very versatile in their setting locations , Fenns have their uses horses for courses and all that lol Quote Link to post
micky 3,325
if i was limited to just one trap it would be the BG ,its light, cheap [if bought from USA] and kills anything it touches,i have a setting tool and safety grips so i can set them easily and quickly,i,ve found that the more i use them ,the more uses i find for them ,allso it makes the job easier not having to carry bags of peat around the field,if a BG could be sprung and fired like a Fenn i think you would have a handy piece of kit. longnetter 32
I think treadle plates are available for BG's.....making them work like Fenn traps but if I want something to work like a Fenn trap.......I use a Fenn trap 1 Quote Link to post
trapperdan 0
body grips are great but take a bit of practice Quote Link to post

Google is great, if you know what you're searching for Coniber pans, and coni-pans will yield results. http://trappingsuppl...ibear-pans.html I feel some tinkering coming on... logun 91
the beauty of the body grip for me ,,and the reason Ive used them over the last few years is they versatility. you can set them most places , and can easily be adapted to suite any trapping situation you ever likely to come across.. when it comes to adding pans,, and i'm guilty of the same i think we over doing it a bit. nothing wrong with the wires as they are but man being man always looking for an improvement be it tunnels in what they may be set in or pans in what triggers them.. keep things simple i say, a pan can be added out of twigs, even bit of turf is trigger wires bent over and splayed a little,, Ive done this with some flat slate in the past ,any thing flat will double up as a pan .pull lid from any can of food the same but as i said i am more guilty than anyone for trying to improve some things but there is a time where sleeping dogs may be left alone to rest i guess Quote Link to post
DKGPestControl 22
It depends what im trapping with them but rabbits I used body grips, squirrels I use both and when general clearances around woodland is needed then I used fenns purely because I have a lot of them and only 10 body grips lol Quote Link to post
