gnasher16 31,416
I think its all too easy to turn round and say they,re all on drugs.............i just think they have a totally different outlook to sport than for instance us Brits......apart obviously from the massive population difference they virtually pick their athletes/gymnasts out from very young based on body type i was reading about that gymnast who just got a gold i forget his name he was picked out at 3 years old because he had unnatturally broad shoulders......by 6 and 7 he could do the cross thing on the rings !!.......Also they have a far stricter approach to sport than we do they dont see it as a leisure activity.........16 year olds there have had it pummelled into their mind and body that they are dedicated athletes..................here in Britain 16 year olds have the culture of getting pissed and acting stupid even talented athletes we try desperately to steer them away from the drinking culture.....other countries dont have that. I just think countries like China simply take sport a lot more seriously than we do over this side of the world...........whether thats right or wrong i dont know.....but it certainly works. You've hit the nail squarely on the head there Gnasher. There's around 20 times as many Chinese as there are British by a rough 'fag packet' calculation. That coupled with their culture, it's a suprise they don't win Gold, Silver and Bronze in everything! Edited August 2, 2012 by Born Hunter
Malt 379
Where do they draw the lines when it comes to banned substances? Every sports person at the top of their game is bound to be on a strict diet which will inevitably contain certain compounds and ingredients in various supplements that will help to raise their performance level.
