Moll. 1,793
Now DEFRA want to amend the DDA, to any dog type, and even on your own private property there has been loads of reports of staffie types etc mentioned in the news. Then on the radio yesterday there was a debate about guide dogs being attacked by other dogs. The government without a shadow of doubt influence peoples thoughts through media. And now it has just struck me on here, the amount of new people asking about bull x type breedings, wanting photos etc? Isn't it bloody awfull that this big brother/nanny state we now live in makes you have to think like this.

tegater 789
Moll. You only have to watch the leveson enquiry that's ongoing and see the likes of David Cameron and other politicians in bed with the press.
Born Hunter 17,909
I had noticed the recent guide dog attack stories on the media and had the same thought Molly. This island isn't the 'green and pleasant land' it once was. Politics, you either play the game or do your best to hide from it.
Kay 3,709
It looks like the dog control bill has died the death , its got no date for the next reading , the bill its self would have repealed the dda if it had been passed http://www.publications.parliament.uk/pa/bills/cbill/2010-2012/0267/cbill_2010-20120267_en_2.htm#l1g12

Kay 3,709
I don't understand what you mean Kay? if the dog control bill would have become law the dda as it is now would be scrapped , its maybe why defra want the existing bill amending because seemingly the dog control bill thats been looked at in parliment is not being pushed forward for the time being

It is a lot easier to pass a new law, getting a load of 'good' attention in the press, media and from the general public. Makes it look like the government / state is doing something without actually having to really do anything more than was being done before. A lot of the time it is not really about doing something, rather seeming to be doing something. Edited June 14, 2012 by PeakOil

You kicked a dog in the head because it ran towards your pup ..........would you of done the same if it had been a chihuaha................who needs dda experts or " innocent till proven guilty " when peoples minds are already made up about a breed !
