derbylad1 293
It comes down to what is one mans version of a jacker. I've seen blokes think their dog has jacked, but i saw a dog running until totally knackered and the hare just pull away. I've done myself in the past and not realised when that last run was. Like whats already been said....a jacker to me is a dog that starts a run and then just pulls up because its picking its own runs and deciding on its own when to run or not. And again check the dog over and ensure there are no underlying issues. But to me...if it was a case of the dog genuinely "jacking", then no i wouldn't breed from. Its not worth taking that risk, that the pups or some of them...doing the same. 1 Quote Link to post
iceman001979 1,316
There is nothing worse then getting a pup from 6 weeks old putting all your time and effort and at 16,18 months the dogs does not want to know.Would not wish it on any one.Be it off the best of breeding or a pup you have been given for free. So many factors play apart in a dog jacking but most time its all about the heart. Some dogs just don't have it in them to do there job there breed for. 3 Quote Link to post

blackmaggie 3,377
i wonder how many jackers have been bred from simply because of the good bloodline they carry 1 Quote Link to post
boyo 1,398
hypothetical question if a litter turn out ok and are catching regular and one owner pushes that little bit to far and pushes their dog untill it jacks but all the rest of litter are owned by more sensible owners and do not look like jacking ,why would you not breed of that bitch just because it was owned by a moron yet breed of another in the litter that might not be as good as the one thats jacked but is deemed ok to breed of .surely in this instance its purely down to the owner. 2 Quote Link to post
Phil Lloyd 10,739
I don't think that is a hypothetical question Boyo,..it is a perfectly feasible one... Quote Link to post
