What a ridiculous pile of nonsense..........what a miserable life it would be if folk just settled for what they have and had no desire to improve........no point doing overtime when you already have

Buttermilk is the colour of my hair!!! Body builder i have never been, i'm into keeping fit. A mate of mine is a body builder, i take him out on the hil and he's fooked within half an hour of tramping

lab I know I promised not to show the lads this but I think they would be proud of your progress Keep up the good work pal

lol dont want to ruin thread with argueing mate :whistling: Just agree to disagree, I have seen it work for quite a few people. There's so much bullshite out there lol. There's lots of different things saying your can only use "insert number here" amount of grams of protein in 1 sitting, numbers always different. Just do what works for you

Being honest tho am yet to see solid scientific evidence fully supporting much, Not saying its true but I just take it with a pinch of salt

The tools are out there to utilise every gram of protein yes ;) ..................but for somebody training naturally which any beginner should be,your body will just throw away what it doesnt need......thats not an opinion thats just life......theoretically you could eat 50 chickens,50 eggs and neck 20 protein shakes taking on 1000 grams of protein per day.....if you think your body is going to use all that protein for muscle synthesis, your wrong.

Spot on the body can only absorb X amount of protein the rest is passed out through your urine ... The bigger you get the more protein you can absorb into the muscle receptors thus increasing the muscle mass you carry ... However no matter how big you get you will always pass some amounts of protein out through your pish .......

Because thats how your body deals with excess protein Mate it is cleaned out in the kidneys and then passed out as urine ....

Maybe splitting hairs a bit, but isn't protein broken down into amino acids before it goes into the urine via the kidneys? :hmm: I only ask because my boy has a genetic condition which means he lacks an enzyme to break down a specific protein. From what I can gather, having actual protein in the piss is not a good thing from the limited medical experience I've had with it.. :hmm::thumbs:

Socks is absolutely right......not all excess protein will go to waste, some will be converted to glucose/energy.......some will be converted to ammonia/urea which is then pissed out.

Anybody taking in large amounts of protein over a long period needs to keep in check with their kidney function.

If you dont mind me asking Malt, how old is your lad ?.......i forget the name of that is it called Lysomal something or other........they used to call it the " cell recycling centre of the body ".......years ago i studied loads of this sort of stuff purely for my own interest they wasnt sure then if it was genetic or not i know they was in the process of doing enzyme replacement therapy i think that was supposed to stabilize defective enzymes or something but nowadays i think they see actual gene therapy as the way forward.........

I know its rare and can be a serious condition so sorry if its a touchy subject and feel free to tell me to mind my business........just this sort of shit fascinates me......i wish your lad well anyway mate

Right......

I want to go the gym atleast 5 times a week, for fitness atleast. So should I do 5 days of cardio and of 3 of them do weights as well. I don't want to be training for nothing 5 days a week.

Can I eat anything??? Tried to keep on things like tuna, soup and chicken for lunch but can I eat bread and pastry stuff without adding weight to areas I don't want....like stomach???

Don't mind you asking at all Gnash.

He's 9 & the condition he's got is called cystinuria. He lacks the enzyme to break down a protein called cystine, and it can lead to a build up and the formation of cystine stones in the kidneys, bladder, etc. We were lucky in a way because he passed a little stone when he was 18 months old and it was diagnosed early. It usually shows much later in life when actual stones have formed and started causing serious kidney damage. We control it by making sure his urine is as diluted as possible (2+ litres of fluid daily) and measuring the PH of it to make sure it's not too alkaline. Avoiding dehydration is the key, so if he has an illness where he's having trouble keeping his fluids down he has to go into hospital and onto a drip. He has ultrasound scans once a year, and so far his specialist is impressed with how he's coping with it on his own because the condition gives a 90% re occurrence rate of stone formation, and touch wood he's been clear up until now..

It's a rare, inherited recessive disease so me & his mother are carriers. One ethnic doctor asked if me and his mother were related the first time he went into hospital to go on a drip as it's that rare.. :icon_eek: I told her that we're from completely opposite sides of the UK so it was highly fecking unlikely..
