Guest Sorley Boys clan
Remember 2 fights from mid 80s , nobody seems to remember them but to me there where classics a welshman colin jones v an American Milton Mcory i think ive got the names right , the American got the verdict in both fights , though i thought (though certranily no expert, and wouldnt take an argument about boxin cause i just watch and never boxed) Jones won 1 off them . i remember a fight with colin jones dont no if it was mc cory or curry but colin got a bad cut across his nose i liked watching colin fight as much as i did tony simson

Attack Fell Terrier 864
Kirkland Laing had a bit of beef with my mate Lloyd Hibbert back in the day. Lloyd is a half cast bloke so Kirkland turned round and called him a fake black man . Colin Jones employed Lloyd Hibbert as his chief sparring partner for the Laing fights, Lloyd said running them hills was a killer and there wasn't many lads who could hack running them. He said he was buzzing when Colin's bashed Laing.

NEWKID 28,628
the best middleweight of all time was with out a doubt avoided bye all . battered the life out of alan minter who i think was left a bit like jeff lacy an the man was shown no respect from minters home crowed beaten with tins of beer marvin hagler it was like dropping a rat into a terrier yeh i liked haggler,, i still dont think he lost to lennard, mind he gave lennard evrything he wanted. and for max,, i think haggler would have beat calzagie had they met in there prime at the same weight...........then again i am biased, as i have met haggler , a real nice fella Called my first dog Haggler, a little whippet x I was about 7 or 8 and thought Marvelous Marvin was the man
gnasher16 31,490
Just out of interest....Jones actually beat Kirkland Laing twice the first fight at Wembley Arena wasnt as convincing as the second but he was still somebody Laing just couldnt get past......Kirkland Laing was one of those misfit types you just want to get by the scruff of the neck and demand he dedicates himself.....although he was from Nottingham way he was a Duff/Lawless fighter so trained most of his career out of the Royal Oak he wasnt a well liked man,not because of his arrogance or his general weirdness....simply because he was so damn good !!.....i remember people like Lloyd Honeyghan even Mark Kaylor going absolutely bonkers near wanting to take a baseball bat to him because they simply couldnt lay a glove on him, many times he would spar with a big spliff behind his ear,get out the ring having not been touched making the opponent look a complete dick then go and sit over by the heavy bags smoking.....Honeyghan or whoever it happened to be would go strolling over to confront him and he,d give it " hey dont worry man your a great fighter man ".....you could feel the venom coming out of people but Laing just laughed it all off.....Terry Lawless gave up on him eventually.......no doubt about it though Laing was an unbelievable talent and great character.
