Dog or Bitch ?

Hello ladies and gentlemen.

 

I was just wondering - what is generally considered the superior working animal - the dog or bitch ? Taking all into consideration, odedience, power, drive, stamina etc . . And what is more sucessful in the Greyhound racing world ?

some top terrier lads once told me that bitches work for you and dogs work for themselves, i have a bitch and at the moment i wouldnt swap her for a dog or anything else but at the same time i have couple mates who work dogs and there just as good, i reckon its down too the folk at the end of the lead but just my oppinion

im guessing it comes down to what suits but for me its got to be a bitch just never had any trouble with them what so ever,only had a few dogs over the years found them to be nothing but wingers from day one, not sure there is a best of either just what the owner favours but bitches work for me

Always had bitches.....just a preference I think personally they mature quicker than dogs (just like us) and are generally less hassle

for quarry that bite back, Dan(USA) on here says males are better for yotes, than females and a 40lb yote would test any dog. I suppose just running rabbits make no differnce, but pre ban things with teeth i think males are that bit better, and i get on better with males than bitchs, i am quite hard on my dogs and bitchs wont handle it .!

Why do people talk utter macho shite. "I treat my dogs hard blah blah blah" from my experience usually equates to i cant be arsed looking after them or training them properly. Nonsense.

 

Anyway, bitches for me. More biddable and trainable and naturally inclined to work from the get go, thats a genetic fact.
