barry lurcher 27
hi all bin feeding my lurcher and terrier for over a year now on minced chicken carcuss along with plenty of veg and rice cod liver oil and a few eggs fish this is all cooked up, boiled in a large pot dogs have never bin better , less shit coming out ,hardly any farts and the shite is like bullets , question is does cooking take anything out of the meat , i know cooking helps with the veg as it brakes down the veg , i cannot see it does as everything is still in the mix , wats your views forgot to say they are getting about 90% meat Quote Link to post

coney clucky 93
lot of people feeding proper cooked meat ie tripe minced beef and chicken i think this type of food is better than the bland bagged up dried food but some people have to feed this as getting fresh tripe and other meat just isint convenient or practical you seem to be happy as to your dogs health and well being so as long as dogs ok then spot on ya mate Quote Link to post

Sounds like you have a good diet sorted. Quote Link to post

scothunter 12,609
never fed my dogs raw, even the racers all thier meat was cooked.frsh veg cooked with it,amongst the usual sardines and stuff he gets.im sure the die hard barf lads will be on saying feed raw,but tbh if your dog is looking good, and his shit is perfect and no signs of scouring, then batter on with what you are doing mate. Country Joe 1,411
I used to visit an old Greyhound owner many moons ago, who boiled sheeps heids, and Knackery meat and Tripe, on his kitchen cooker, I will say no more. Quote Link to post
alun1960 234
If they are doing well keep them on it, try keeping a few raw chicken frames for the dogs to chew on helps keep teeth clean. Quote Link to post
