Aint that the truth....im on my 9th day without leaving the house !....Ive got a phone, miniature fridge, toilet facilities the tv remote and a laptop all within arms reach and thats my life at the mo

The thing to remember with acupuncture AFT is its only pain management.....no amount of acupuncture in the world is going to fix or repair certain injuries ...I know they talk about accelerated blood

get and call out your dr, he'll tell you what you need. my brother, a few years back now, had his back go for the umpteenth time, and left it, thinking it would sort itself out as it had done many times before. it did'nt, after a couple of weeks he got the dr out to him, who immediatly called for an ambulance. after no more than 1/2 an hour in a.e. he was transfered to a specialist at addenbrookes hospital for emergency surgery the following morning and given a 50/50 chance of walking again! he's got abit of a black mans limp now, but could of been alot worse. basically, his disc had popped and was pushing on a nerve, he'd left it so long it caused irepairable damage...

I've had sciatica on and off for years now. I used a chiropractor back home in Canada, it helped a bit but no big deal.

Last year I fell over a fence while I was lamping :icon_redface: Sciatica kicked in and I was in dire pain - I left it for a while and the pain ended up right down my leg to my foot. Finally called the Osteo man and he sorted me out straight away. I honestly think I'd be crippled without him.

Don't let it go too long because sometimes the damage can be permanent.

Thanks very much for the advice

What strikes me as abvious in reading the replies is you all sound like your pretty mobile while you have it.....im actually completely out the game it takes me 5 minutes just to stand up and straighten up,moving round the house youd think i was 99 years old !....Im on some fancy orthopaedic mattress virtually the whole day and have been for over a week !

Ive had sciatica on and off for about 20 years, maybe 1 or 2 short 3/4 day bursts of it every year....some flat out rest and it clears up on its own.....but the fact its only improving very slightly is making me wonder if its something else this time.....im still none the wiser what the difference between a chiropractor and an osteopath is

I,ll give them a bell and see what occurs....thanks all for your time anyway ;)

Steve has yours actually been diagnosed as Sciatica ?....yours sounds identical to mine and im only really going on what i was told years and years ago as regards it actually being Sciatica....but ive never had it like this which is why im starting to wonder if it is

Ive also had a lot of rough tough sport over 30 odd years and the ol body has certainly taken some stick so as you say maybe you pay the price.....my pain is all around the base of my spine, around the hips and into the cheeks of my arse....but only occasionally down my legs, not as far as my feet though.

Made a few calls this morning though i forgot its bank holiday so still not spoke to the right people....ive been advised to have an mri scan.....ive done all the hot/cold packs, rolled up towels etc etc its not making a blind bit of difference......no fun this is it :censored:

Best of luck getting it fixed pal :good: If you've been laid up for this long then it sounds like it could be pretty serious, get your Dr. out to you mate.
