whats best dog ye seen perform.....

Recommended Posts

These numbers can be achieved if you are keen have the right dog the right ground.this bitch had a few years well over the hundred mark and was still at it at 10

I have read some comments and I can see the doubters, I have seen this bitch work and to be honest she would do that number a peice of piss

I believe him, no reason to doubt him, if he says it happened it happened. Moo is as sound as a pound as far as I'm concerned.

It's also not actually THAT many. If you have the quarry to go at, then a dog capable of doing it, can do it, end of, and should be able to 'do it' on multiple a night/day, so the rest is just down to the owner.

i think a lot more lads out there could have better dogs than they have, i know i could, i have a decent'ish bitch that wants more, needs more, and is capable of doing more, she is switched on, intell

This is one of those topics were you everybody has a different opinion on what constitutes a good/great dog....Its all relative to the people you know and the circles you run in....I've seen and owned

The bitch has probably killed her share of roe but I believe 700 is an exageration to inflate MOO'S bigger than average ego, either that or he cannot count.

What i meant was mate, it's a lot, don't get me wrong, and not something i have done, but i know some that do.

If you live in an area thick with game, and your out say 4/5 nights a week at least.

Then in a season you get a lot of nights out, and if the dog is really a good dog, then knocking over say 100 in a season isn't unbelievable.

It's impressive, especially to do it consistently over several seasons, but not a flight of fantasy for a dog to take 700, working 4/5 nights a week, for say 6/7 seasons.

Alright?

I just find it funny, the guy says his dog has done it, and then when i say, yer i believe that, it's not a ridiculous number, he's like 'Oh no it IS ridiculous, it's really high it is'. . . . . like somehow by believing him i'm taking away his chance to feel superior? Sorry if i have that all wrong, i often do.

I know what you mean ideation, it's achievable. Still some feat though lol by Anyones standards :victory:

Oh f**k aye, it's incredible, but there are folk with decent enough dogs, lots of game and an obsessive zeal for it, that get similar numbers, especially i think on that kind of quarry.

It's just that the combination of a good enough dog, and obsessed enough owner and the game to go at, rarely comes together in one place at one time.

And i'm sure on here, there might be one or two who have taken more with one dog in its career than 700. But who knows.

it can be done, with a bit of luck from injurys and if you willing to travel 5/6 times a week belive me.preban

That's what i'm saying mate, a lot of it is about putting the leg / wheel work in. And having your dog functioning most of the time. There are probably more dogs that could do it, than owners who try.

I think it was the way you said it wasn't that much. I'll be happy if I get that in a lifetime nevermind a season lol.

Over a hundred deer a season with one dog is a bloody lot.....Make no bones about it :notworthy: . When i was going at it like a man possessed, every spare minute out with the dog, i still didnt get anywhere near treble figures

You would need a good dog and a very keen owner i should imagine......

Ah.

If you read it, i said it "actually isn't THAT many', as in, it is not a stupid, ridiculous, mythical figure. High, but not bullshit high.

And it was followed by a sentence which explained what i meant.

But there was a fair bit of punctuation and some poly syllabic words, so maybe that was a bit of a stumbling block.

And 700 WAS for a lifetime.
