took you a while to revive this one 😂

Lol it was just something stiffy said on here yesterday, asking if D G was still around, so I googled 'is Darren Gallagher still breeding whippets?'

And this thread came up on 'The Hunting Life.'

So had a read of it earlier lol

I'm no being funny, but do you like anyone? Just you seem to have a bit of a chip on your shoulder about anyone who has made a name. Not that i'm arguing with you about this guy

darren seems to be of the opinion that him and his followers are the only people who can represent the working whippet as a breed, and the only place it should be talked about is on the poachers rest,h

jude-Pennymeadows Black Sheep was born 4-7-09 jg advertised him at stud on the wwf in August 2010 at 13month old as it had done more than enough to satisfy himself(jg)considering it would of been a c

He used to run a little show out in the fens...he lives out there...I stood it once or twice with my stall...I remember him telling me he went over to the whippets...cos of all the grief with the coursing dogs and the law...think he was doing pest control as well and when ever the cops tured up...they left him alone because he had the whippets

From his FB page he's, as he always was, into a bit of everything. A roofer by trade, he does his herbal remedies under the name of the fenland forager. Sells samphire and other edibles etc. Lives an interesting life by the looks of it.

He probably will still keep a whippet or two, and I know he still has those Alunte things.

Good choice I come in to running dogs with whippets not mine mind you they belong to a cousins foster parents they were country folk and loved there hunting great memories I used to stay with them all the time because I was a little shit but loved being out with there dogs great fun to watch. I’ve said I’ll not have another runner after my last ones times up my misses said she’ll have another beddy whippet I told her I’d rather a straight whippet just in case the night’s perfect for running the beam it’d be a pet first an foremost but just the bonus of getting a few runs in great little dogs

it's certainly opened my eyes at what they can do, biggest surprise is how good a nose they have, beddywhippets have a great nose, but this whippet is on a par with them.

It was a happy ending whippet story furg the bitch did have a head like a biro and was frail so bloke sold it 2 a pet home but she sickended her non hunting new owner by killing everything in sight nearly every time he took her out
