IanB 0
How would you like to have the airgun section laid out for ease of use and its categories... It seems many posts are placed in the wrong section, and it can be very time consuming moving them... -------- Should we leave the section as it is ?? Should we combine the main forum and general airgun discussion forums together and leave the technical forum...? Make the main forum for airgun discussion and change one of the subforums to hunting posts only? Opinions and reasons appreciated.... Quote Link to post

andyfr1968 772
It does seem to be a bit random sometimes as to where folks post things with not only new members but also regulars who aren't sure where to post topics.... I put up a post a little while back that was both a story about a trip out but also had a technical issue, so where do I put it? Technical or general or banter??? The banter/discussion and general section seemed to have merged into one anyway, with most folks useing the general section for their posts. I think bringing the general and banter sections together would be good as banter can always be a factor in any thread and if folks have a specific technical question or post then that goes in that part of the forum. Two simple and seperate places for people to post. Cheers. Edit to say... Shouldn't you have posted this in the discussion section..??? Edited February 25, 2011 by andyfr1968 2 Quote Link to post
pianoman 3,589
I agree with Andy's model. Technical and Revue Section should remain seperately, there's often some good help, tips, rifle and scope revues and advice on there. "General Airgun Discussion" where members may freely discuss a wider spectrum of air rifle and pistol topics, anecdotes, opinions and so on, should remain. This section, "Airgunners spring and Precharged" is the most confusingly titled. The title is too general sounding and invites posts and threads of a general nature, despite having an intruction for true purpose tagged above. It should be renamed Airgun Hunting. Spring and Precharged. And be hunting specific. It should NOT be the first section you come to when logging on as I find it to be. That should be "General Airgun Discussion" Just a few suggestions that might more easily help keep things tidy. Simon Edited February 25, 2011 by pianoman 3 Quote Link to post

secretagentmole 1,701
How about renaming the Airgunners, Spring & Precharged, Airgunners Hunting Trips? After all you could be getting up the noses of all the people who own gas ram guns! That way the clearer title would indicate what the main page as you come in is for! Quote Link to post
rossi_j 99
"Make the main forum for airgun discussion and change one of the subforums to hunting posts only?" Yes ian, that is exactly what I would do, were I in your shoes. Opinions and reasons appreciated.... Its all to easy to stick something in the first section you come to, so you want that to be general banter / discussions as the chances are most posts will land in the right place. Making a hunting posts only sub section will work great as being a sub section it is almost protected from people who pop things in the first section they come to. General = main Hunting posts = sub section 1 Technical help and reviews = sub section 2 Thats best in my opinion, it would be nice to be able to trawl through nothing but pure hunting posts once again (in that section ofcourse) .atb. .ste. P.s any chance of a sub section for steves and andys as half the people here seem to be made up of them  The sucess of this lies in the hands of everyone!! Have a think about where the post should go, it will benefit everybody Edited February 25, 2011 by rossi_j 1 Quote Link to post
markha 99
Combining the general section with the main forum is sensible and keeping the tech forum seperate. Thanks for asking for opinions Ian, If I was overloaded with work having to keep moving posts to the correct board, I would have started a dictatorship and said, its my forum and Ill delete what I like! Now theres a better way to work things, just put up a sticky post called I will delete your post if...... then when people post in the wrong section just delete it, simple 1 Quote Link to post

jasper65 6
I need to stay independant on this one Guys! don't you think it would make sense to have the main section headed as a Airgun Hunting Forum or the like and the others used as the Sub sections? the reason I am saying this is the website as a whole is 100% Hunting related! the one thing most of us have in common on here is we all Hunt one way or aother. A vast majority of the Airgunners on here are genuine full time in your face Hunters or pest control. surely this promotes the reason the main board should be for Hunting and the other used as Sub forums? Sub forums are also very handy to catagories different issues. Just a opinion lads! you're the one's who make the Airgun forum tick Jasp Quote Link to post

Karpman 44
I rekon General airgun should be the first you fall upon with hunting and tech sub forums. As has already been said. Nice forum anyhow. very liberal nearly grown up and well managed without over zealous banning and kicking of it's inhabitants. Cheers Karpman Quote Link to post
Phantom 631
Sorry gent's been away over the weekend filming gigs for some friends. Here's my take Airgun Section (Header) Hunting: Reports and Write-ups from the field. General: Airgun Chat and Banter. Technical: Questions and Answers regarding Hardware Or: Airgun Section (Header) Hunting: Reports and Write-ups from the field. Technical: Quearies Regarding Hardware. Just my opinion Phantom Edited February 27, 2011 by Phantom Quote Link to post

Technical: Questions and Answers regarding Hardware Or: Airgun Section (Header) Hunting: Reports and Write-ups from the field. Technical: Quearies Regarding Hardware. Just my opinion Phantom Ill second that Tony We could also do with warning people about some of the content of their posts too. This ssection has been dragged down by some pretty nasty comments, and content, and not always from the regular visitors to this section, but people who come in to snipe and cause trouble. 3 Strikes and a ban for a month, friend of the mods or not!! Friendly banter is one thing, and a bit of fun, we dont want to become a lot of statched shirts, but blatant abuse, threats of violence, should be jumped on quickly, and a public warning given to the offender. Also as said before, ANY PERSONAL GRIPES settle by PM dont flood this setion with your bickering and bitching. Just my thoughts. ATB. Bill. 2 Quote Link to post
