after 6 months in my local jobcentre ,they bang straight on courses ,6 weeks,12 weeks, then 6 month these courses are meaninless and cost the goverment millons ,all you do sit a room a play games and u

Great idea, there is litter strewn all over the sides of the dual carriage ways round here Lots of old folk need houses cleaned, painted and gardens tidied.   We could have gangs of say a dozen u

when i was unemployed i went shop-lifting 4 days a week

if people have been claiming jobseekers for over 6months do you think they should be made to do work in the community i.e. litter picking, painting, cutting the grass etc? I think it would be a good idea.

Community service because they haven't got a job?

How about training them up in something that suits them, that'd be better don't you think?

well said fell, and not just sticking them in a room with a load of smack heads whos only interest is getting thier next hit.proper help not just going through the motions

That's it mate, they should allow people to learn real skills that will help them to get back into a job they're going to want to do. You know so these people can eventually have a career in something rather than just throwing them into positions they're going to hate and wont stick out.

Fuuck that most want to stay on the rock and roll as it's an easier life ffs I work in the employment industry and let me tell you the country is full of pricks  who either don't have a clue, don't give a shit or have no hope in bettering themselves no matter what you do for them.

I've had people turn up for interviews stinkin of shite, beer, fags (I smoke), soil  one guy asked me to give him a job under threat of violence another refused a job offered to him because it was £600 a year less than he was earning... 2 years ago at this time the moron was on the dole  email sent to me not long ago....... "Hi can I have a job please, you give me one job" took another guy for an interview to a factory and the daft cuunt starts trying to negotiate his feckin wages up  no he wasn't taken on  funniest one was a lad came to sign onto our books when asked why he'd come his reply was "me mam sent me" He was 27 ffs

But on another side I've got the most numpty acting slow geezer on my books who WILL work his arse off without complaint or greet I asked him not long ago why he stays with us doing temp positions all over the place his answer.."I get to do different jobs and it keeps me off the dole" needless to say this boy is an asset who is looked after well all the people who have this attitude are looked after by us

Onto the original question giving these jobs to people on the dole is a stupid way of doing things as all that happens is people are moved off the dole and into these jobs whereas the people that HAD these jobs end up on the dole 'kin stupidity :wallbash:

the most numpty acting slow geezer

didnae know you had a brother :whistling:

Nay my brother The guy used to be on here as superted I think

How come some people can be on the dole for years and they never get bothered by the dss we all know at least one or more. When i was made redundant years ago they were never off my case, reason i went self employed. While were at it poachers should be transported to the colonies, good old days.

no offence mushroom but i hate agencys along with the forrigners id stop agencys

Agencies aren't the problem I've said in a previous thread our staff get the full wage they are entitled to ie if a company say to me I want 3 staff on £7 per hour the staff will get exactly that, we put a small charge on each man per hour paid by the company. To be honest if people could be arsed searching for a job then agencies wouldn't be needed (except for the short term temp staff). I broke up with my mrs had 3 months sulkin then decided to get a job within a week I was employed by the company I'm with now. Did some searching on the net recently and voilà I've now got an interview with a company that has it's main offices in Knightsbridge, London how did I get this chance?? knew someone? paid someone? nope I bloody worked at it  that and doctored my CV

I think that when you propose all of these solutions you need to remember that there is a massive jobs deficit at the moment. It is incredibly hard to find even the most basic work at the moment. I also don't think that many people actually want to spend their lives on the dole, what is it £50 a week? With inflation as it is, that really won't stretch far.

I think that our country should focus on the people who do have jobs and reward them for working - they need to sort out the sad fact that a lot of people earning minimum wage would be better off claiming benefits - can you really blame someone in that predicament?

I also think that our government is punishing the wrong people, the latest increment in university fees is a :censored: disgrace. Social mobility hasn't been this bad since the 1920s and it's getting worse, so please think before you condemn an entire section of society to be entrapped in permanent poverty!
