Good Gun Shops

Recommended Posts

I think we should start a recommended gun shop thread, so people can find out who is recommended by us, the general public, to get good guns, good service and good deals! I have 3 recommendations for dealers in Norfolk and Cambs.

Youngmans

This gunshop is in Great Yarmouth, he sells a good range of air weapons and other guns, I got my lovely Hatsan 60S from him at a very good price. He is very knowledgeable and gives good advice too.

Whittlesey Gun Shop

This is (surprisingly) is in Whittlesey, between Peterbough and March in Cambridgeshire. This is the place that is selling me a beautiful Webley Stingray II (called Marina, sad I know but I called her Marina) and the wife a Diana 280 carbine. A very good gun shop who does not try to steer you to the expensive stuff, will let you try the guns on his 10 metre range, will set them up and will work a good deal out as well.

Walkers Outdoor Leisure

The website is not very good, being only contact details, but has a good range of weapons and ammo. has a testing range upstairs and gives good deals as well (wife bought a Gammo 400 and a tin of pellets and he chucked in a gun bag as well as knocking off some money as well).

All the above are also gunsmiths who can carry out maintenance too.

In North Yorkshire, I recommend Wighill Park Guns near Tadcaster. Owner Nigel Lambert is a straight-up honest lad to deal with and his shop is superbly well stocked with everything you could want.

In HUll and surrounding area's I'll recomend NO-ONE!

Apart from Rod @ H&DFTC :gunsmilie: Not a shop, but by far the very, very, VERY best RFD I've ever met.

He's no rip off merchant; unlike the rest of em in this area.

I'd reccomend him to anyone and everyone. The other RFD's could learn a fecking hell of a lot from Rod

Had two guns off him, well below the nominal going rate that would be charged by the rest :drinks: Rod :D

I've dealt online and on the phone with The Airgun Centre, and I found them excellent, and very helpful.

My local gunshop is Churchills Of Dereham, and they'll be getting all of business until they give me a reason not to. Excellent guys, always helpful.

I bought my HW95K from Uttings in Norwich some years ago, and although I got what I asked for, I felt a bot like I was shopping in Argos. Haven't been in there since, but really have no reason to while Churchills continue to be so brilliant.

Found an excellent gunsmith over at Great Ellingham, this man will service a springer for £20 (inc vat) but does not include spares. He will replace whatever needs replacing and charge for it in addition! Also did a superb deal for the wife's rabbit dropper. A Hatsan 60S (latest model with shock absorber system, quattro trigger and truglo fibre optic sights), 2 Hawke HK 4x32 mildot sights (she decided to upgrade my SMK on my Hatsan 60S), 2 sets of Hawke HM6102 mounts, a set of Caldwell Deadshot shooting bags, a game bag, Buffalo River rifle bag (with good side protection) and 2 tins of RWS super H point pellets, £230!

The guns will go to this man for servicing, he shoots rifles, air rifles and shotguns too! A great dealer, great knowledge and damned competitive on servicing!

Got another one chaps (fickle customers are Moles, always searching greater bargains and customer service), Partridge Gun and Country Stores, they even have their own FTC range out the back of the shop! Sold a Hatsan AT44 W10(new), FX 4 stage pump (secondhand), some pellets (obviously new), a target box and some targets (also new obviously) for under £400! Had a problem with the pump, being resolved after one quick phone call (very pleasant on the phone when you have a problem as well, he is getting a new whip line for the pump). His prices are keen and he is a decent bloke. Advertises on Guntrader a lot!

So here is a link to his shop!
