watchman 256 Posted January 19, 2011 Report Share Posted January 19, 2011 i know a lad (yes that old chestnut )who works for a specialised plant hire company, basically if you want to hire this equipment for a day on site he will bring it to you and operate it for the day to meet your needs. the company he works for do not drug test their employees but one of the other lads went to a site last week and after the initial induction was asked to do a piss test,he did so and passed. the thing is my mate does smoke a bit of weed now and then,certainly never at work but in his own time as it were and now hes got all paranoid(don't we all at times )that he could also be asked randomly at a site for a piss test. is there anything he can say on site that would get him out of having to provide a specimen,maybe legally or religious beliefs i don't really know but its quite a fool proof test even taking the temperature of the piss, so other than giving up the weed is there an out or not? wouldn't be happy ringing the office to say he got f****d off from a site for not providing a sample for testing as obviously this will open a whole can of worms. anyone got any experience in this Quote Link to post Share on other sites

DIDO.1 20,892 Posted January 19, 2011 Report Share Posted January 19, 2011 ..... er some cunning plans there mate but I think if your working with heavy plant and value your job then stop any drugs, its getting more and more common in that area of work and they dont take excuses. Even if your bosses believe you you will still be asked to leave a site. I dont know if its insurance they are up against or [bANNED TEXT] but sites are getting stricter and stricter and iv never known them give any leeway. Quote Link to post Share on other sites
