My gran was a normal person. She was sick, dying too young from illness in hospital. It was the time of ten great strikes to save the common, normal folk from the rich. Reality is my gran lay in a dirty hospital bed, with no one helping her, or changing the sheets etc and no food. Because the hospital porters etc were on strike. My dad and his brother went to the hospital with bed sheet, other stuff, food etc. Head hospital Porter said, you can’t come in here mate, we are on strike and no one is touching nowt. My old man and his brother just dropped the little pr*ck and went about helping their mum and a few others.

The true values behind socialism have been warped and betrayed by cracker jacks for many years. A bit like animal welfare.

Was a hard old year 84-85 strike, I remember some of my workmates selling cars, furniture, jewellery and anything else they had for a pittance to blokes coming down from the S.E to take advantage of the situation, most of us took years to pay off our debt to find ourselves redundant shortly after

And some areas of England have not recovered to this day. Many individuals also never did. A complicated and emotive period of our history.

I only have experience of my area but have heard all the other areas suffered the same fate..?

I have been ignoring a good bit of advice that my Dad gave me that I usually adhere to... never talk about politics or religion in a bar.

Not in a bar but I am having a drink.

No more political input from me. But I may post more  bollocks about whippet/greyhounds.
