gnasher16 29,678 Posted September 15, 2009 Report Share Posted September 15, 2009 (edited) If our society was a perfect one (I know it isn't!) then there would be no addiction to anything.It is I know a eutopian dream, however we must accept that for whatever reason (and there are many) these people have turned to drugs. As a result they are addicted. I do understand that many people on here just think they are wasters who have no right to live but surely rather than just right them off and kill them it would be better to cure them and use them as an example to others to prevent it occurring again. Many addicts were hard working, educated family orientated people who still have much to offer. They have families who still love them despite their problems. The project was a trial to solve a problem that exists. It is one way of solving the problem. I personally believe that it puts our society in a good light and shows that we have the ability to show compassion. We live (or are supposed to....I know Dosser for one doesn't think so....and I'm inclined to agree to an extent) in a democratic society. As a community we should look after the old, the young, the weak, and the sick. If you do not beleive this then to what regime would you sign up for? A society where we euthanise mentally handicapped children at birth one way the crippled are "put down" as they cant work for the common cause? (Not that one Dosser) Old people who can't work any more are got rid of? Smacks of Animal Farm and not the porn version!!!! I for one would want no part in a society like that! Sorry if it offends folk but its my view and in this forum I believe that I am still able to voice it.......Hopefully that right hasn't been removed yet................! well well well.....i think im convinced ....i think swampy makes some fair points....i mean after all said and done,if as a country we are willing to help out,in fact wipe the arses of the rest of the worlds scum shitbag immigrants legal or illegal......then why not help our own scum shitbags out ???....sounds perfectly fair to me. i think some folk have taken it in the wrong context,free heroin is not a reward.....maybe it does have a touch of dogooding about it but im sure some of the desperate crimes these people do will drop a little.....bad ass dealers will lose an income......and the junkie is still a junkie....everyones a winner ! maybe i havent thought this through properly ...but my initial thoughts are swampy is speaking at least a little sense. People dont CHOSE to get cancer or any other dreadful illness.......they dont chose to loose thier job and be on the bread line........mentally handicapped people dont chose to be born that way..........and we as proper human beings should take care of those folk BUT SKAG HEADS........ But i think this should be viewed as another example of a ruling elite with utter disdain of traditional values, they have all but destroyed the family unit and completely abandoned our young people. A/ as much as they want/need?(in which case,they will kill themselves with the sh*t anyway!) B/ a reduced amount to try and help them kick it?(in which case,they'll still go to any means to get the remainder of there daily fix,so hence not lowering crime etc...) after all,if they gave alcoholics 4 cans a day on the nhs,would that be enough??lol.of course not. Let's give them cars! Tax evaders? Make them all tax exempt. Muggers? Every time they get the 'urge' send 'em down the social for a grant payment! The police would have more time to concentrate on important things then, like illegal hunting. Our prisons would have more room, so lets make more offences imprisonable. What will be interesting to see in the long term is if the specific crime goes down as the scum no longer "need" to thieve to buy drugs, then where will those who make a living selling it get their money from? It's displacement of crime. Watch the armed robbery rates go through the roof ............. Product of our society......... not my society mate. It must be great on planet swampy. Not for killing em but not for helping em either and certainly NO free handouts ,in case you and the gov had forgotten class a drugs are illegal (only cos the dozy twats cant tax em that is) These people are only addicts because of the society we've created. lampman 7 Posted September 15, 2009 Report Share Posted September 15, 2009 my 6 year old and his friend were playing on sunday right across the road from my house on a green, the miss went out just to see where he was, the young lad that was with him was coming across the road with the top of a needle in his hand and my young lad sted there and when the miss got to him he had one in his hand with no cap on it she asked him did he stick it anywhere near his skin he started to cry and said he fell with it in his hand and he said he felt it prick his thumb, we brought him in and washed his hands with anti septic and looked for the mark where he said he felt it but we found nothing but brought him for blood tests just to be safe now we have to wait a week to find out what the story is and then he has to go back again in 3 months for more tests myself and the miss havent slept fook all since sunday, iv been praying every day that he's going to be ok only time will tell,, all i can say is a dead junkey is a good one and that they should be lined up against a wall and shot and my god look down on the first one that pass,s my kitchin window... p.s after them 2 needles were found 6 more were found by pairents and the garda...
