fenn trapping tips?

well i have ordered some GENUINE Fenn mk 6 traps with view to trapping some rabbits in the tunnel entrances on an allotment job i have. doe anyone have any tips that will help me with this. i have read the pinned article on fenns but was wondering if anyone has any other tips or tricks to increase my chances?

1st make sure the trap is the correct way round you would be susprised how many dont.

2nd rub your hands in soil.

3rd allow the trap to rust a little this will make it less visible to thiefs and the rabbits.

4th dont use materials from another location to help cover the trap.

5th try to place in very well used tunnels not bolt holes youve seen the rabbits just run into.

Those rabbits will have died of old age mate that posts over two years old

I paint mine with green cuprinol. They go from shiny new to camo green in the time it takes to dry. As with mole traps, i don't bother weathering in traps or washing me hands. We got a big old stinky Ginger Tom cat that lives in some out buildings in our field. I have watched him sit out side a rabbit run waiting, and killing rabbits. If they can't smell him then my hands ain't gonna' be a problem. Also, make sure they are set so as not to catch non target species and away from children's chubby little fingers.
