smelly dog 16
How many of you on here have got dogs that you do not know the history of ? How many dogs and pups change hands on here without a question of who bred them, out of what and from who? How many of you are using stud dogs that have got no history to them? How many of you ask the owners of the granparents stated in the dogs history, if they realy did breed these ? Plenty on here and in books have stated they have had dogs from gypsies, dealers that have no idea of were they come from, then other lads on here are using the dogs to stud, or having pups from these. Easy to blame the scum that are taking the dogs, but think for a second do you know 100% the dogs in your kennels do not come from stolen dogs, if you cannot then YOU are part of the problem. They only steal to make money, dog dealers and buyers are feeding this problem £££££££££'s Put up pics of the dogs you have got, that you dont know the breeding of or are you still as bad as the SCUM that stole them. Rant done. Quote Link to post
JPTfellterrier 65
must agree.....they steal because they know there is a profit to be made i think a good solution, or somthing that would help, would to only buy a dog advertised with a picture, for example on here or in the paper, then that shows they have nothing to hide and someone is bound to know the dog if it has been stolen i will admit that i dont know my lurchers breeding but i have all the vets papers and that has her original owners address on Quote Link to post

Irish Lurcher 1,013
You hit the nail on the head pal, its to easy for us to buy a good dog at the right price without asking any questions, think its about time we started asking some serious questions of the seller and the dogs history Quote Link to post

Scatterbred dogs like mine have all been bred by someone and its up to the new owners to ask who bred it, out of what and do a bit of research to make sure what is said is true. Its up to the owners to check the dogs out. The dealers will tell you what you want to hear. Lets keep the stolen dogs up at the top, so if you put one on here lift stolen dogs aswell. Scallywag 78
It would also help if people tattooed or microchipped their dogs, too. It's easy enough then for someone to check the ownership of any dog they're buying and check that it's legit. 1 Quote Link to post
sounder 9
we had this chat last nite it's as much as the buyers fault as it is them scum that stole them but it's lads that buys them keeps the stoleing trade going,??? cheers sounder Quote Link to post
alimac 882
i agree withh what your saying, but for example, say i stole a 14 month old dog, and already had a dog and bitch that i could pass off as the dam and sire, i could easly tell any prospective buyers that they were the parents of the stolen young dog, and id dare bet that 99 percent of folk wouldnt question what was said.. Its a sad fact of life that there will be thiefs who will take from all forms of your life, wether it be from your house, your work or your kennels, and that there is folk queing up to save a few quid with no questions asked wether it be your telly, your works comp, or your pride and joy from your kennel Quote Link to post
smelly dog 16
Every new dog or pup you get, take a photo of it in the prev. owners hands, if its a pup take photo's of both parents and pup with owners. If they got nothing to hide there will be no problem. Every one has to do more to stop the scum stealing our dogs. Quote Link to post
