  1. Totally agree with what you say bird, I did keep him on his lead for a week he's now off it and a completely different dog for it. He's no longer 4000 miles in front of me when on walks he stays in tight, his recall and all aspects of training seem to have improved so much better than before and as I said I feel like we've bonded because of it. ??
  2. I never felt really felt a bond that strong with my dog until a couple of weeks ago when he decided he wasn't going to listen to a thing I said and kept running off he was about 11 months at the time, so I stuck him on the lead for a week and now I feel like we've finally bonded properly and there's no better feeling!
  3. Who cares whether it's bollocks or not as long as it makes for a good read! looking forward to the next one mr Darcy ??
  4. Cracking dog, cracking pictures! Atb with him pal ??
  5. I do think a lot of this discrimination is worse in some areas of the country to others, I'd say from what I see on here on Facebook etc there's more trouble with you northern boys and girls then what there is further down the country where I am. I don't see any such posters or anything mentioning poaching. What do you guys think?
  6. Living the life chaps, cracking pics!

  10. My saluki bull grey 10/11 months.. Big strong dog but definitely saluki minded!
  11. Just a quick question, when in the house my pups all over me like a rash lays with me, won't leave me alone but when we're out in field he's always 100+ yards away and just ain't interested in me what so ever, recall is fine but as soon as he's back he's gone again. He's 10 1/2 months, just wondering if it's a problem I need to nip in the bud or him just being a puppy? Cheers Dec.
  12. Stunning looking dog pal how's he bred really like him Saluki bull grey mate
  13. Had Lurchers in my family all my life but recently had one of my own now 10months he has saluki in him and as you said darcy he's not interested in tug games what so ever, but reading what others have put about how it helps bonding etc what would you suggest helps with bonding other than tug games with saluki x's Atb
  14. Mine doing the same mate at 10months I just put it down to 'teenage' years, I never as my mum dad told me when I was a teen either so just keep at it and keep patient, try not to lose your head I know how easy it is to, but stay calm and he'll come good!
  15. Smart dog that mate, like that a lot Atb with her
  16. Mine nearly 10 months coming on well, looking forward to getting him started properly on the lamp within the next couple of weeks no rush, still a lot to learn. Happy hunting chaps
  17. I think that if your taking you 7-10 month old pup out for an occasional lamp once every 2 weeks say for 1/2 runs I don't think it's doing them large amounts of harm, but if you want to be out all time with a pup that age then don't, give it chance to grow because excessive hard runs can cause damage.
  18. Yeah well I've tried to keep my pup away from rabbits atm as he's only 8 months so maybe we he starts working it'll be natural. Yeah Matt I do that with him atm so guess I just gotta keep at it and hope for best. Cheers lads
  19. No not really, tried tennis ball, dummy and he'll kinda run after it but no matter how excited I get over it and try and make a fuss he just don't seem that bothered!
  20. Hope so mate, I try little and often with him every other day atm
