  1. Cheers Digger, this year Im looking to back heel the bigger game fairs and shows that may not lean towards true working dogs, apart from the Earthdog Runningdog and The Welsh, Im trying to keep it to the small local working shows, its never going to make me a millionair but I think its about time more traders thought about those that they supply, and remember that these dog lads and lasses are there bread and butter
  2. What size mincer are you looking for, I know a guy that has a big butchers 1HP mincer for sale wants £300 its worth a lot more but only if you want one that big
  3. There should be some thing in the CW every month untill the final week, first in Aug
  4. At the moment Im putting an artical together for the Countrymans Weekly and Earthdog Runningdog got some pictures of some big rats one is 20 1/2 inches, but I waiting for one from a local lad who says he has one 21 inches long
  5. Ko Shamo you know if there looking for any trade stands
  6. Trader I am a great believer that there are none of us that knows it all and have said so many times, we all should listeren to folk either old hands or new to the scene, and feel some time some one new to some thing can see things us that have been around a while have over looked as we trundle through our ever day life
  7. Should be in full production in a couple of weeks Donnie
  8. Got a box on the go at the minute with removable dividers machined some groves in the front of the box and divider up rights at the back, making it posible to slide a 3mm panel into them so making it ethier a large single a double with two sections the same size or one section a 1/3 of the box and the other 2/3 or there equally sections
  9. To put in a divider on a bow back box and keep the strenth in the box you would have to keep so much of the permenat centre wall/walls, other wise you would have to cut through the top bow where the hinges are fixed, Im going to have a go today and put some pictures up to night So are we looking for a single/double/triple combo
  10. Heres a double I made today Doule, triple and large double
  11. The One, top venting is the one thing most folk as well as myself agree deeds to be looked at for the reason you mention, when traveling in the motor
  12. Pencoed the holes will be in the front along the top edge so to keep the incoming air in the top of the box not through the front where the ferret is layed, our straps are 50mm wide, also our boxes are very light we have found a good supplier of light wight exterior ply and 3mm bendy ply for the backs
  13. To be honest Tewkesferreter thats some thing no one else has ever come up with before a waist strap, thats the kind of thing Im after
  14. Over the last few weeks I have been talking to customers, friends and fellow hunters about ferret box designs, with opening of the new shop Hunters Haven, I would like to make some changes to our design of ferret box. Now I know a box is a box is a box, but after taking a long look at our own boxes and those made by other suppliers, and listening to the thoughts of others I feel we can improve on box design. There are some decent boxes out there being made commercially, but lads and lasses say if you used the front of so and so's box and put on a sloping top and fitted it with a bow back for
  15. Donnie, Im looking to make it a twice a year event, spring and summer show also looking at running another spring and summer show with lurcher and terrier racing trying to sort some where with a bar and more parking, this would make a total of four extra shows through the year in the north east, with money beiong in short supply at the minute it would be good to get some thing going up this end of the country to save lads having to travel
  16. Not a problem simoman, I kept barnaby company and sat with him on the back of the van, apart from him the only other one wanting to chat with me was the skunk
  17. Nerys it was a pleasure having you there, and would like to think when we have another show you would come along
  18. Who left this little guy behind at the show
  19. The man himself, he judged for me this weekend a true gentelman and a font of terrier knowlage, I doubt very much if there are many to match him And another very knowlageable terrier many with many, many year's hunt service under his belt was Colin Didrikson who stayed over for the week end to do a book singing for his new book A Worse Country Mischife, I could have spent many hour's talking to these men they both have so many tails to tell and such a good understanding of the true working terrier
  20. This young lady was a bit of a crowd puller a lot people wanted to have there photo taken with one of her animal's, but believe me more than once I had my heart in my mouth just watching some of the lurchers eyeing up the coati as it jumped from her to some one in the crowd, in my mind I could see it being snaped out of the air, but every thing went off ok and it was good to have her there Mrs Hubery in the shop with a pair of skunks
