  1. I've ran three birches that ran into double figure 1 if them to 12 and another to 13, got the most stuff in one night with one of them when she was 8 6 seems a bit early, dose she have injuries, looks a good stamp of bitch
  2. Some nice ones there matie.. shooting birds against the sky can be awkard for exposure, especially white birds
  3. All this technical stuff is beyond me.... All this technical stuff is beyond me..
  4. Without hyjacking the thread matie..I do two main places up there where Ive been going for a number of years, can wait 5-6 hours at a time for them to come in, first year I went I spent 6 hours a day for three days and got one dive.. Not seen an eagle..thinking of going to Mull this year for the sea eagles, trying to plan this along with the ospreys time..see what happens. we use it as an all lads week, my two sons, we do fishing on the Spey and fish farms, as well as doing other outdoor activities,
  5. Going off what I get off them, my books sink like lead baloons Busy doing a sexy book at the moment, hoping that might open some doors and pave the way to a new lens or two. Confessions of a mole man..its going to make a few farmers on the borders think.. I go to the Cairngorms for ospreys, they are there now..my dad used to breed poms, among other things
  6. Bill, what would happen if heaven forbid you ended up damaging or totally knackering a hired lens? The hire includes the lens being fully insured, theres an excess of £200, the hire also include delivery and picking up at your house..Im hiring a 500mm f4 this year, as unlike JD I cant afford £7000 + HA HA HA
  7. Cheers matie, all will have been taken with the D700 and the 300mm, but the ospreys I would have hired a lens for them Im doing ospreys in July, and have the lens booked already. Thanks again Fuji
  8. I certainly ain't Bill haha,I think Paul does though? I've only got a Canon 650d and shite lenses but being honest I'd not justify one like some of the ones you guys have,I like pottering about with the dogs on fells,in forests etc,I've already knackered one camera through getting it soaked and have fell and broke three lenses haha..NUMB springs to mind here I think..not safe out let alone with thousands of pounds of hi-tech gear hanging around my neck Same here matie, I have a second hand D700 which are now discontinued and obsolete, and a second hand 300mm f4..the only new piece of kit
  9. Good images matie, obviously you have the gear
  10. One with the 300mm f4 on Monday morning..
  11. Great images Great place, I've been every year for the last 5 years with the grand kids In the summer hols Always get some decent shots there
  12. Great footage and lovely light Your so lucky to have them close to you
  13. Best I've had was a lurcher x lurcher with deerhound and collie In her, she was the best all rounder I've had, her grand daughter was the best rabbit dog I've had and her daughter the best deer/fox dog I've owned
  14. Yes its faster JD, but is it sharper? But probably could have done with the extra light yesterday, the lad with me had the 2.8 and he was getting 3000 sec when I was getting 2000 and if it is, is it £3000 sharper ha ha
  15. IPhone 4 ha ha some phone bill or it could have been a Nikon D700
  16. Got this guy on the same day, but with the 1.4 tc on the 300mm this time, and much better light Not as sharp but it was more of a snap shot Sorry, looked shit on here
  17. 300mm f4 afs JD usually have a 1,4 tc on but not this time needed that extra stop of light to help get the shutter speed up..
  18. Perch set about 12-14 feet from the hide this is two different birds, the male and the female,,hoping to get them passing a fish or mating on the day, got them both on the same perch
  19. Hide worked great fro kingfishers, here a few from yesterday, hope you like them..
  20. The 300f4 is as already said a sharp lense pay a little extra and get the afs, the older ed modle you can knock nails in with it it's so well built, I use the 300 95% of the time JD is right about the price of 400-500 lenses add another 0 even for second hand ones The sigma I found soft all the way through, and if you think that's heavy try hand holding a nikon 400 2.8 the old version is 10.5 lb It's so important to get the best glass you can afford Why not hire one to try out I hire when I go on certain shoots
  21. Dog thieves in Durham...that's a new one ha ha ha Seriously though, good to give people the heads up I had a dog knicked and it's not nice
