  2. had another shine last night, ran the pups off back of van individually and they got 12 between them,we then got a quick 1/2 dozen with my brothers little whippet grey x bull grey.18 in total and then in the last field the keeper we were with shot the fox sorry about the pic quality i forgot the camera so i had to take one on the mobile

  5. a good do mate, good luck for tomorrow i hope we get the gales to
  6. no way will he tackle a fox on his own he will grab them and let go,he'll topple them over on the run, i was rabbiting one night and he caught the fox by the tail and they were going round in circles and he just let it go and the fox ran off,but run him with another dog that will do them and he seems to know and catches quite a few in his way.he will catch the odd daytime hare but i didnt bother side of the game that much if at all.my brother gets a few running him with his 1/2 sister out of the same whip/grey bitch to a bull/grey.
  7. i gave my brother one out of the bitch i mentioned earlier in the thread,he's a good rabbiter but not as determined as the bitch was,he will grab foxes or knock them over but wont get bit(or does'nt want to) he will give a hare a run and catch deer, but his main job is catching rabbits.the collie has deffinitley steadied him up pic of him below out ferreting.
  8. any chance you could take a pic of her for me to have a look at mate?
  9. yes probably mate, its not serious but i dont want to finish his season before it starts if ya know what i mean,i'll give him a few weeks off and that will also give the ground a bit of time to soften up a bit i hope
  10. pups are going fine mate no real hiccups to speak of, as you say everything as come pretty natural to them, there spotting things at the end of the beam now which is the most frustrating, when you first start and the rabbit just runs off, there 100% with stock i was in amongst the sheep last night and they were chasing the rabbits right through them with not even a hint of them bothering them, remus has had a few runs mate but is struggling at the moment with a toe injury so he's getting a couple of weeks off.
  11. there fine mate,me and my mate kept 4 back between us they were so much alike in size and shape so we'll see if there's any change as they get older
  12. its bad enough with them 2 but when remus there older brother is there its hard work
  13. good going again mate, your gonna have a great total at the end of the season well done
  14. had the pups out again last night for a few more runs ,12 months old to the day yesterday.the penny is starting to drop now with them spotting the rabbits and looking down the beam.
  15. i had one years ago a great little bitch stood 23@ts but what a game little dog,it would catch 20/25 rabbits for me 3/4 nights a week and run back to me with them as fast as it went after them,it would catch a odd day time hare but i never bothered them that much,it would catch and kill foxes single handedly but the bigger ones it would struggle with,if i did'nt work and could be assured i would get one like her i would have another tomorrow. my brother as two dogs out of the little bitch and are both handy dogs but not a patch on the bitch, but saying that they havent had the work she got
  16. superb mate well done and good luck with them
  17. exellent night mate good crack, but like nightwalker said if there's sport to be had like you've just described i would leave the net at home, each to there own i suppose well done again

  19. to be honest ditch i'm not sure what it was, there was a blue tit landed on her hand for food also, the wife as feeders up in the garden and she as commented a few times how some of the birds are getting more confident of her when she goes out,she can spend ages outside just sitting watching them on the feeders.here's another that was kicking about that day,i dont know what it is either
  20. we were at a craft and country fair and you could walk around the estate house and grounds,we went passed the keepers cottage and the old bloke was standing feeding the birds,i asked had he reared them but apparently not,he said he just had lots of patience and with him being in his garden all day they were confident of him.there was all kinds flying into her hand for the feed
