Federal Game Shok Or Remmington Yellow Jacket??
ludders76 replied to ludders76's topic in Rimfire, Centrefire & Shotguns
Well at the minute Ive been helping the farmer who owns my permission get his hay baled and in the barn. Hoping to do some crow shooting with eley subs over the next few days too. Then I'll sort some federal game shok from my RFD and post a report on here. I'll try and upload some pics too. -
Federal Game Shok Or Remmington Yellow Jacket??
ludders76 replied to ludders76's topic in Rimfire, Centrefire & Shotguns
I thought that too. But demand for .22lr can not be so low. Look at the current market, there are no many different manufacturers making different types of high and hyper velocity .22lr. I completely understand your point about subs. I use eley subs myself and yes they are very good. But for those of us which do not have a centre fire rifle or enough cash to have multiple rifles. It's good to have an option just in case Basil Brush sticks his nose through the hedge. I suppose as stated on many forums try them, your gun might like them. I was just trying to cut down wasted time with t -
Federal Game Shok Or Remmington Yellow Jacket??
ludders76 replied to ludders76's topic in Rimfire, Centrefire & Shotguns
I've heard eley used to make HV .22lr and stopped I wonder why? I havent made it to the RFD yet but I will definitely get 50 federal just to try them. I think I may have found one not too far away who stocks velocitors. Now the big debate..... do I clean the barrel out before I shoot. -
Federal Game Shok Or Remmington Yellow Jacket??
ludders76 replied to ludders76's topic in Rimfire, Centrefire & Shotguns
Thanks gents. I was starting to think I had found some bizarre rounds no one had heard or used before. I've heard and read very little which is positive about the rems. But I have read a couple of reviews in publications stating that the game shok 38s are a decent round. I still want some velocitors. However, I think I may take a punt on the game shok 38 gr and I'll post my findings. Unless any one else out their can offer anything further. If they're shite at least I can try and warn everyone else. Thanks again. -
Touching words from a good friend, RIP Paddy.

Ooh now your tempting me. To be honest i'd rather spend 17 quid on some decent ammo and bash some crows. May well pop down to B&Q tomorrow and have a play. I've got some decent camo tape in the kit bag already! Again, thanks for the advice. I posted the topic and you all have not let me down. Lots of good different suggestions to the problem. Cheers. -
Good luck fella!

Firstl I am so sorry for your loss. From what I have reas this sounds disgusting and wrong. The RSPCA should be held to account for everything that has happened. Unfortunately I believe this falls outside of the Police and comes into a civil matter. Totally wrong I must say, but plod are pretty powerless based on what I have read. I agree with local press, media, radio and hopefully then nationals will get involved.

Cheek Pad / Comb Raise Solutions
ludders76 replied to ludders76's topic in Rimfire, Centrefire & Shotguns
The pipe lagging solution is cheap but i cant see it lasting for long. Do you have to repeat repair it often? The other stuff is high density foam. It should last quite a while. Though I admit 3 quid better than 17. -

Thanks Ian that looks goo too. Especially as youve personally tried it out. However there doesnt seem to be any uk stockists. Do you know where your mate got it from? Very tempted by the Tourbon recommended by Hutchey. -

Thanks for the advice. I really do not want to chop the stock. Its verging on antique! It would be a shame to ruin something like that. The insulation idea looks like a go-er though. At least it cheap and doesnt damage the gun. Does any one else have experience of the lace on / velcro options and neoprene sleeves? Beartooth and tourbon seem to make them. -
Hi all, I am the proud owner of a Brno mod 2e zkm in .22lr flavour. She is used and I picked her up for a bargain price. The barrel has been shortened to 16" and threaded for mod. At present I have a harris 6-9 bipod fitted and a Walther 3-9x40 IR scope fitted. She still shoots 1/2" groups at 85 yards and probably with practice even tighter. My ownly gripe is the hogsback stock. I am really struggling with eye relief / cheek weld. I know there are many, many options and solutions on the market, but what is general opinion on the best value. I'm sure this question has possibly been aske

Hi, funnily enough I asked my FEO the same question whilst he was checking my shoot. He said the same thing as many others have on here. .22lr is not the best round for the job. However, if you are sensible and skilled a headshot will do the job.

Hi I have the smae problem with my BRNO mod2e .22lr on ebay theres an item called a cervellati cheek rest it looks pretty good. Has any one else tried one or used one?

Hello I have a BRNO mod 2e ZKM .22lr bolt action. Its a great little gun. The barrel has been shortened to 16" and screw cut to allow me to fit a moderator. Its extremely accurate 1/2"groups at yards. I have fitted Walther 3-9x40 IR scope which has superb optics. I'm not sure about the illuminated reticule on this it flares very quickly and I tend not to use this function. The stock is a hogsback wooden item and this is the only thing I dislike. Any ideas? I have considered an after market tacticool or boyds. They seem really expensive as my rifle only cost me 150 quid! Or try and get a C
