  1. +1 To this. Cci subs are poor. Ive had generally good experiences with eley subs though.
  2. Hi, its been a while. In that time I have got a new hawke rimfire scope, I have also got some CCI 40 gr mini mags. I wish I had pics gents the combination is phenominal. Yes, Im sure some will say Its cheating, but in my eyes anything which makes you more efficient and accurate is great. Better clean and humane kills. I shot sub 1 inch grouping at 100yards and opened up to 1 1/2 inches at 150 yards. I wouldnt shoot anything routinely at this range though. Anyway great round, really good scope.
  3. Im pretty certain it was the moderator. I put an old one back on and all seems fine. Superb groups at 50, 100 opening up to 1.5 inches at 150 yards using CCI mini mags.
  4. All the above steps have been followed. I went out today, and easily 1" grouping all the way out to 125 yards, Using cci mini mags and eley subs. Thanks for your help advice and experience.
  5. Gents after the longest school holiday in history.... or so it seems. I have cleaned changed scope changed moderator and then checked again. All is good, accuracy bang on. Thanks for the advice gents I must admit I didnt float the barrel it never was free floating.
  6. Gents sorry I havent replied. Started a new job and its the curse of school holidays!! Every day off seems to be taken up entertainer my 4 and 7 yr old. Ive cleaned it check the scope, mount and rings. The barrel has never been free floated so I doubt that a problem? Changed mod too. Finger crossed when I finally get out it should all be sorted!
  7. I agree with bunny blatters comments generally. However, with the wealth of experience here it seems a shame not to listen to a few possible suggestions. Maybe Im very cynical but an RFD wants to make a sale. For what its worth in my opinion an Air Arms S200 would be a great little gun. Yes Im basing that on my experience. Yes I own a mark 2. However, with a ten shot conversion and the fact that it is relatively small and light. It is easy to handle and for the price it is very accurate. It would make a great hunting rifle in .22 you could possible use it for target shooting too.
  8. No I have not tried it. I'm relatively new to hunting. Have done a lot of shooting in 9mm and 5.56mm. 22lr is more fun in some ways trying to push the limits of my skill. I'm gonna deep clean my rifle, and check scope and mounts. Hopefully grouping will come back. Its easier when its a human error rather than the rifle.
  9. Gents thanks for all the advice. I will try all of it. I was head shooting woodies at seventy yards a couple of weeks ago! I'll update when I've done all of the above. Cheers.
  10. Any losses of accuracy?? I went out today and had a bad day. Two inch groups at 60 yards, previously I have been shooting 1" groups at 90??!
  11. I have a Brno mod2 22lr. She is a beaut and until recently she was shooting 1" groups at 90 yards. However today at 60 yards groupings have opened up to 2". I am shooting same ammunition type eley subs. I'm mystified, I have cleaned it since loss of accuracy and put 20 rounds through it but still no improvement. Is it me having a bad day???
  12. Yes absolutely I thought my mod was knackered. These are a new batch the older ones are quieter! I haven't got a chrono but it would be very interesting.
  13. Good shooting I must admit I have never succeeded in stalking a crow!
  14. Ive got three mods Im getting rid of one of them is definitely suitable. If you want Pm me and Ill send you some pictures. Ta.
  15. Thanks for the offer unfortunately I think,!? my wife has bought me a hawke vantage with hawke rimfire reticule. It may well end up on here for sale if its no good. Thanks for the offer though.
  16. 60 yard zero for subs also gives me 100 yard zero for hv's or thereabouts, depending on the brand/ammo, so for me it's worth carrying a few. Cheers for that I may well try out that theory. I need to get hold of something better than the winchesters though, my brno hates them. I know you cant expect the same level of accuracy with hv. But they were rubbish! Love tge tips its really helping me gain some experience. Just back from holiday so hopefully get some shooting done before I go back to work on thursday.
  17. Would you believe it. I managed to get up to my rfd and he'd sold out of game shok. He had the remmingtons but I thoughy better of it. I bought 50 cci subs and some winchester super x high velocity. Conclusions...... my gun does not like cci subs. No where near as good groups as eley or rws subs. Winchester super x? Sounded good! Again accuracy really poor. Hopefully he'll be getting some game shok back in soon so I will possibly have a go with those. As an inexperienced shooter I can now fully see the argument around the pointlessness of HV. Theyre no good for crows anyway.
  18. Is this available? I have been looking for one of these everywhere? I'm a relatively new member and searching archives this appearssun resolved.
  19. This is a fantastic gun. I have one just like this. Extremely accurate and reliable. Grab a bargain! You will not be disappointed.
  20. I was using eley 40gr subs. They really are great rounds. I was shocked the second didn't take off. But was more surprised when it walked over to see what had happened. I was more than happy to show it exactly what had happened.
  21. I am desperate to get my hands on one of these! I want it for my .22lr Brno. All the reviews I've read rate it really highly. Where did you get it from? I cant find one online anywhere.
  22. I must admit we have a dolce gusto machine. Its not quite costa but its definitely a step in the right direction from instant!
  23. I have been tinkering about with the trigger on my BRNO MOD 2 .22LR. I have also fitted a new magazine well. As such I needed to function check and check zero. I popped up to my permission and re established my usual 50 yard zero. Imagine my surprise when this pair landed fairly close by and started squabbling. Well it would have been rude not to. They were about 86 yards away.I took aim at the largest bird and squeezed. One shot, one kill. Imagine my further amazement when, instead of flying off, the second bird came closer to see what had happened! A change of aim point another squeeze b
