  1. Been into all sorts of gear with the dogs over past 35 years and owned some good dogs that did the job I wanted them to do at the time so if your talking about ferreting dogs they could be but if you are talking about the best dogs I have owned then it would be no, atb.
  2. Cheers mate, some spots this month others with some luck I can go into April.
  3. Dogs and ferrets worked well today, started at 11 and called it a day at 4
  4. The whippet will stand back and watch the holes, not far away as she catches a lot as they are bolting but far enough away for them to bolt, I had the young lurcher doing the same but I gave her a break from ferreting for a few months and just used her on the lamp so now she's back ferreting she is a bit too Keen at the min but will calm down soon. Even if the dogs are in the mouth of the holes I find I do a lot less digging than a man that use nets by just walking up to the set and putting the ferret in and standing back and leaving the rest to the dogs instead of walk about on top of the set
  5. Looks a great day on a great place, dogs have done good on the hard ground
  6. Been there many times, look forward to seeing her in action.
  7. Yes, when it is discussion, not when it is a write up, even if the write up was a wind up, which seems to have escaped some on this thread. TC

  18. Cheers lads, the whippet will be back at them next weekend
  19. speed dont mean everything and your right trev your show bred put more to sleep than a non ped in a season When I say this I'm talking about the land I work these days, on other land speed can come in handy but still would go for the kc race bred over the non ped for more speed.
  20. There's a lot more to a working dog than speed for me, my kc show bred is no speed machine but I would say she is a good catch dog day and night and she is the best marking dog I have owned. some places I run her a non ped would kill its self.
  21. hel get his chance trev He'll enjoy your new place next season.
  22. Cheers trigger we found enough to keep the dogs happy.
