  1. What does that Patriot kick like? I remember one I shot years back now, it was like a stabbed mule.
  2. f**k me that looks like summer... Where's the rifle? Nice.
  3. It's a Sandwell Field sport hw98, not much used mint this years rifle. Oooooohhhh no. Your one of them SFS'ers?! You got your bird tattoo booked in? What calibre ya homo? The SFS 98 comes in .177 Res. What? They dont do a twenty two?! What a load of bollox.
  4. Here we go, 22 v 177 again. Th OP was aimed at the Spring rifle... not about the killing or hunting efficiencies of the calibre. Just saying. Just seen Marks comment so as an edit. Ive dropped my stuff with .22 than .177 but then again I shoot .22 more
  5. Has it got IR Res. Yep. Might be on sale soon too... Just a heads up. Would suit your 98 down a tea
  6. Res the reason I asked is that I like the sports match one piece mounts but am dithering with my scope choice but if can get step down rings I will just get the 30mm double screw mount then I am ready when I choose the next scope. Yeah man, get a 30 and you can downsize what sits in it.

  8. Tell you? I was just after those mount ring adjusters, they sit in the inner of the mount ring to make a 30mm mount into a 25mm mount. Ordered some, only a fiver. From ant supplies.
  9. You've got a 98 now? Hmm. Proper project rifle.
  10. Nothing like having glass worth more than the rifle... I've got a sidewinder myself but find it proper overkill for most set ups.
  11. Without starting an argument, I'd say a 'seasoned' shooter of springers would be the FT and the HFT boys and they use 177 like it's going out of fashion in there set ups. 177 perhaps is more "precise" as you maybe kinda say but only due to its smaller form, but I think, and it's it's only a think, is that the experience with springers is more enjoyable and instructive with .22
  12. An image... From Mark... That does indeed enlarge when clicked...?! WTF Ya grass needs sorting out. Tight as ya like groups.
  13. Your defiantly not talking shit dave. Not at all. I am indeed testing scopes. As the rifle is so light I'm finding it tough to find what I like most. I'm looking at getting the new small job from Hawke, the 2-7x32 air max. But bunging it on my 1 piece BLK mount. The scopes aren't effecting the shooting of the rifle, it's more me I guess.
  14. Found um, it's alright.
  15. What's them mount adjuster things called that fit inside the rings of the mounts, allowing 30mm rings hold a 25mm tube?
  16. Fair point. This is actually true, sounds alot different when I shoot off the hip [safely of course] I thought it would, but that minute difference up in the shoulder is quite a bit.
  17. You know twenty two is the calibre for the spring. I know you know.
  18. Managed to get out this morning with the 99 and just now this evening before it got way to dark. Swapped some scopes over though in the afternoon and after a quick zero [AA Fields, but Charlie, I must try FTT's as you have said, can imagine it getting more accurate though... can I?] mooched around the wooded area at the back of the manor house perm. As mentioned in a previous post I dont see many squirrels myself, but this autumn there out on full force. The morning was nice to be out, and the evening was quiet so wasn't after massive bags and the 99 is a fine weight to just walk around wi
  19. Stick to your MTC's mark, you know there for you, you use one already and it has served its purpose well. I personally don't like them but some do. The big old viper would no doubt suit that KT down to the ground. I don't know, I find the reticle a bit on the thicker side compared to the higher end Hawke models and so on.
  20. Interesting, how do you mean?
  21. Random this but anyone noticed the positioning of the scope and mounts on a springer makes the rifle sound so different? I was moving some scopes around just now and both rifles sound so different when the scopes either far forward or right back, put it back to normal again and its back to the usual report. The 97 at normal is like 'thock'ting'... right forward it like 'wun'ting' and right back its thunk'ting' only every so slight 'ting' though. Im kinda assuming its changing the wight distribution No, Im not drinking again.
  22. Something light with loads of aim points for myself. Enhances the precision I suppose.
