I've never really thought about FAC air rifles, except the 357s. Could a 'typical' (middle of the range) FAC airifle take down a fox, cleanly?
-
Looking good. Very impressed with the patterning. What made you go for that style?

Ebay, but as Toby said, you'll probably lose your front sight. What guns, and is it possible to have your sight mounted further up the barrel?

Okay, I confess this is a pet peeve, especially after trying to help so many out with threads and the alike, but to find only the hunters with perms are reading them. But a few quick questions for all newer members that are asking for permissions: 1. Have you actually tried asking land owners, or have you actually just popped on here and thought you'd try your luck? 2. Have you provided any genuine input to the site before asking? 3. Are you a member of a shooting club, insured, or both? 4. Can you actually shoot accurately enough to get a clean kill? 5. How many times

Hand on heart, I do really feel for guys trying to get permissions. However, I don't feel for the guys that come on here and just ask for them! If someone popped on here and said, I'm having real problems getting a permission. Does anyone have any hints or tips on what I should do? This is what I'm doing......Is this the right way to go about getting a permission? For that person, hat's off, I'll help out how best I can. However, if someone comes on here with a sob story and it's clear their agenda is to get permissions and nothing more, they can [insert expletive]. The real proble

What gun, what size magazines?
-
Congrats! That's really good news.

More luck with the wife mate haha. If you take half the bills, we'll talk...
-
Well, because you asked so nicely....I do get a go with your wife first right? haha Did he not mention that this is a shared permission? Are we still talking about the wife?

To attract a bird into an area to shoot is actually illegal. The GL states you can only shoot birds that are a pest. Think of it this way, imagine a migratory species that were flying overhead, and you coaxed them in to landing then shot them. They weren't a pest though, even though they were on the land. Your best bet is to study the land and see if pigeons are a pest there. If they're not, you're breaking the law. I have 1 permission where rats, rabbits, and crows are pests, and others where it's just rabbits and pigeons (rats are always fair game, same as rabbits). With birds, t

Pigeon Shooting Wanted - North West
RemyBolt replied to jakeditch's topic in Pigeon Shooting & Decoying
Congrats on not even saying hello and getting involved in the forum. Instead you've just come on and asked for permissions, no intro, no added input, just straight out "I'm only on here to get land to shoot on." Really bad way to start, not cool! Usually people wait until they are at least in double digit posting. Well done for the sob story though. It's also good that you didn't check the forum for how to get permissions. If you had, you may have come across this. http://www.thehuntinglife.com/forums/topic/322642-how-to-get-permissions/ Also, as UrbanFly said, try going with a -
Electronic Bird Callers Illegal In Uk
RemyBolt replied to Tornado1979's topic in Pigeon Shooting & Decoying
I think this is a pet peeve for all hunters really. Not sure you can use electronic calls for foxes, you might be able to, but best to double check that. With birds, it's about the GL and Wildlife act. An electronic call can be an exact match that will attract loads of birds, and the killing will be indiscriminate. While the GL specifies the need for only problem birds to be dealt with. For manual calls, there is still a level of skill involved, granted not a huge amount for pigeon calls, but that element makes it more acceptable. Try the Acme crow decoy if you don't think calls re -
My thoughts too. I severely hope it's a croc, but really doubt it is. Most likely a rotting log, bin bag, or a rotting-long-bin-bag-combo! I hear they are very dangerous!!!!

Reptile, cold-blooded, colder climate, slower metabolism, they'd be fine on very little food compared to those in Africa or Alligators in the US. A few fish a day would be plenty. Don't forget, there are probably LOADS of fish in there, just that we can't see them.
-
If the council really thought it was a croc, they'd have done something about it. Not heard reports of anyone being hired to check the sides of the banks for slipways or anything like that.

Kev1987 has a good point. Spend as much time with him as you can. Maybe even consider a little shock tactics "Dad, I want to spend time with you now, because if you drink how you are, you'll be dead soon. And I want to get to know you properly before you drink yourself away."
-
The more you can get him out and about, the better he'll end up being.

Drugs wont give a human 8 litre lungs Very true. But they do increase the efficiency of lungs, the ability for the heart to sustain increased stressloads, the rate of ATP production, the amount of haemoglobin (and thus oxygen) in the blood. They also increase the number of nerves that fire in the muscle thus increase the number of muscle fibres contracting. They increase the ability of the body's recovery rate, and much more. i'm a bit busy Remy to get all google on here but if you're gonna post dont forget to mention erythropoietin and the mysterious cyclists who drop dead

Congrats mate. That's awesome.

There are some really interesting thoughts going on here. Some advice makes sense, some is urm....well, IrishNutty. I think you are the only person that can really make a decision as to where you want the situation to go, however, it is up to your dad, as you recognise, to want to change. Granted a lot of people drink to forget their problems. However, if a person is better able to embrace life, that is another way to stop them drinking. It's not going to be easy, and it'll be hardest to start with, but it's still doable...depending on your dad. For one, you said how cool he is whe

Robin chicks usually are 'larger' than the adult version. It's just the feathers are all puffed up and look larger.

I'm not taking away anything from the Champions! The top 5 in ANY sport would always be the top 5, whether the sport was full of drugs, or there were no drugs in

Oh Dear, Oh Dear, Please Help! Big Scope Issue!
RemyBolt replied to RemyBolt's topic in Shooting Equipment & Accessories
I sold my Ultra to my friends lad (the farmer of my favourite permission's son). Felt really ditached from the shooting experience. Beautiful gun though. If I was pro pest controller or competing, I'd go back to PCP. But after trying out the cheap springer (yes it's a crappy Gamo, but it's so much fun!) I just couldn't click back with the PCP it doesn't feel...right. The accuracy was there, the zero was easy to hold, and it was a great pest controller. The problem is, the skill required at the ranges I was shooting at was...pretty much zero. The shots were there, hitting spinners, taking out r -
That'll be fine. Just check the import duties and the alike. Then pop it over. If it's buy one get one free, I'll PM you the address for the second one haha.
