  1. ase is the dfogs dangles. small and superb at taming the blast
  2. well the only upgrade from the redding is prob to wilson dies.
  3. that isnt bad mate i dont think that would make much difference at all. dont forget event to the ogive the bullets could have a slight difference in them. i go to 1.950 for my 22/250 to the ogive. some times it go's to 1.952 but i havent seen any difference in accuracy.
  4. yes but wait till you see the accuray of the home loads compared to cheap factory ammo
  5. i would put down for both. it wont cost you anymore ! well intill it comes to buying the rifles
  6. yes im pretty sure you have to pass your dcs1 before you can sell deer to butchers and other people. im sure one of the lads who has got that will be on in a moment to state the facts.
  7. that is a disgrace ! the reference has his own fac/shotgun tickets. so must be a sound person for the police to grant it him. now there saying he isnt good enough to be a refence for someone else. something dont add up there. are they trying to make it hard for the lad who is applying for fac ! if not it sounds like it that is poor isnt it. i would have a word with the head of friearms if i was your mate. Notts police ! And where are they on the list of best forces ?
  8. nice one. great the 1st time you have a proper go on a rifle something your allways remember. time to get them forms and fill them in i think.
  9. i like going out doing abit of shotgun shooting and ferreting. but my main interest is foxing with 22/250. saying that 22lr with subs popping bunnys off from the 4x4 in summer is superb sport and none stop
  10. cracking rifles mate and very accurate. i had one when i 1st had my fac but sold it as i used the hmr more. wish i hadnt now it was a superb rifle. get a trigger kit from rimfire magic now ready to fit when you get the cz. mine shot the eley subs best. and as for a scope i had the mtc viper on mine. what you should get tho is the mamba it doesnt have the big target turrets on it. so makes it more compact. the glass is more then goood enough for rimfire ranges also

  12. save your cash and put it to a secondhand cz hmr mate. it will be better built. and will sell more easy if you want to change caliber in the future
  13. i havent got one of them i have the conquest and its very good for the money. i will be moving up to the victory model in the very nr future. you wont go wrong with scopes from zeiss. very good optics and great under the lamp to.
  14. i would go down to 22 inches. you could go to 20 inches but imo 22inches gives you a compact rifle well keeping the fps a little higher.
  15. the older lux model is prob better built then the newer ones
  16. You are of course quite correct, even though the Home Office guide makes it quite clear the .243 is acceptable as a stand alone fox tool! silly really isnt it. 243 is the all rounder really.
  17. the 4x4 if we are walking tho plan your route so you shoot them and then come back past them on the way back. just make sure you put them up out the way of foxes otherwise it will be a free meal
  18. just remember inless your going for deer to. alot of forces wont let you have 243 just for fox. they will want you to have deer on the land. before they grant you a 243
  19. i do 60 yards for the 22lr that way rabbits what are out to is less hold over then say'' zeroing at 50 yards. for the hmr i do 100 yards. and for the centrefire go 1 inch high at 100 yards. which would be around bang on for 200 yards. [ depending on ammo and so on'' ]
  20. i cant see you having a problem you got reason to apply then that is the start. you have allready said you go shooting with a friend. im sure he can put your case forward when you get a visit from the flo. even if you have to have mentoring on it for a wee bit thats no hardship. as for barrel wear on 22/250 it will be good for 1000's of rounds if looked after. left to cool after some many shots. cleaned properly. a 243 shotoing light bullets fast will have the same wear if not more ! as it uses more powder. as for caliber i dont shoot the bigger deer so cant comment on that.
  21. by law yes but if its on your ticket as unbranded then i cant see the difference. the problem you have is if you filled the slot on your ticket with a mod. and then you went to buy a mod from a shop you couldnt as your slot is filled. some gun shops will take your old one then give you the new one. and then inform the police
  22. thats the only one i have seen for them to mate. you could get one made at stafford synthetic stocks.
  23. sounds like you need to adjust the neck sizer abit more mate. how much of the neck do you adjust at the moment
  24. i think for what cheap factory ammo cost ! why take the risk of using the army ammo just to save a couple of pound. its silly and more then likely shit accuracy anyway
  25. have you tryed to get into place before the sun go's down. or early morning
