i have a load of heavy curtain rings, mild steel with powder coated finish. im thinking of giving them a go after i use up the nickel plated rings.

good bag of coneys there, one of my perms is the same with the old farmer coming out and talking shite, stands in front of the holes and talks loud as f**k. i usually call it a day when i see him coming

yeah think im going to have to spend more time on the young jill, not really bothered about the bite, but my wee lad is always playing with them. and the same one nipped the son on the finger before (no room for biters). the skulking was just a big waste of time, lol i'll see how she fairs out for the rest of the season. thanks for looking.

got on the road early today, and got to out permission about 9. done three sets, two on hillsides and 1 either side of a fence. it started off promising with plenty of action in the first two sets, but then one of the new ferrets has started to skulk big time, and even bit my finger and drawing blood (the wee fecker) so i wasnt impressed, especially as her sister is a cracking ferret. but this one seems very skittish for some reason. anyway 3 got away, had 2 shallow digs but ended with a nice bag. and the game carriers are a handy bit of kit.

yeah it was the 500g spool, and that net is 5 yards, but i also made 3 or 4 purse nets before i started that one. so roughly 6 yard net per spool im guessing, (with 100% kill) hope that helps edit to say if i was making anything like that (or longer) in the future, i'd buy sheet netting just for handiness of course.

not sure about fox nets the one, but 16 mtrs should roughly make a stop net of 8 yards with 100% kill. the twine is from agouti, aqua blue cheers

Thanks tc, Some good tips there, I shall bare that in mind for the future. Spotting runs and temporarey warrens is going to be a learning curve. But its all about getting out,and trial and error. I usually learn better from my balls ups hah. Atb norse

thanks lads, i haven't done one hedge this season yet, as there all open burrows. but it will come in handy i hope (maybe to reduce hole hopping). as has been said its learning the right spots to place it that will take me time.
