ghostlyease replied to bucknut's topic in Working Dog Health & Training Talk
Any news on pups, start to take temperature a week before pups are due, temp will start to drop 24 hours or so before pups put in an appearance. I have had pups born 5 -6 days early, have to keep on your toes, lol -
running bitch after birth
ghostlyease replied to tyson's topic in Working Dog Health & Training Talk
Here is my Rhea 9 weeks after having pups, so 4 weeks after pups were totally off her, once pups are feeding on solids only I fast the bitch for 48 hours, then bring back the usual routines slowly, they are pretty easy to get back into shape if they were in shape in the first place. Although she isnt a running dog and her work is all fun based id think that a fit running bitch would be just as easy if not easier to get back into shape and get out doing stuff again. -
Updated to the end of the year but will be adding as I get more info on days out...

There is one in Surbiton that ive been to a few times Info here I like this shop, nice people, its not huge but its ok. There is one in Crawley that we visited just last weekend, it was ok but the online shop is way better than the actual shop... http://www.surplusstore.co.uk/ Im pretty sure there isnt one in Barnett any more as it says on the links in the post above but I could be wrong... Check in the yellow pages online for either army surplus or air gun shops, you may be surprised whats near you.

feeding 6 days of the week.
ghostlyease replied to bullmastiff's topic in Working Dog Health & Training Talk
Always had a rest/fast day for all mine once past a year old, different things suit different folk and their dogs, feeding is so very personal. -
It is a bit weird to be a long standing member of a site, have no input, but check out the other members I sometimes click on profiles (dont have many posts to my name) im a nosey girl, lol I do understand how people can feel intimidated by the click of a forum, all long standing forums have knowledgeable people, they are not to be passed by these are normally the people that have been round the block a few times and even though they have answered the same question 20 odd times before they are still willing to help out someone that needs it. Not sure why anybody would be a member

Not all dogs made it over but at least they tried! Floyd, Ripley and Minnie cleared all poles bar 1. After a bout of food poisoning the night before the race day nearing the end of the day I did start to feel better, I even cracked a smile!!! We really appreciate the time everyone took out of their weekend to come along, w -

That is the standard lens I believe that come with the D40, I just got given the body of a D50,I was told I needed a 55 - 200 for outdoor action shots (the type of shots I do are a 50, 50 mix of indoor kids shots and outdoor dog shots) Ebay is a great place to get a bargain I got a 18 - 55 and a 55 - 200 off there a few weeks back for £118 inc combined postage, not Nikon lenses mind they was Sigma, Bargain!!!!

Id start by putting the dog in the car doors staying open, move on to closing doors, moving on to driving around the block progressing on to longer journeys, if dog is sick then no sympathy or scolding, ignore and clean, something to do with the dogs balance association or attention seeking, build up confidence slowly. A covered crate (if they fit in one of course) may also help the problem as well as localising any sickness if they are sick. Edited to add that pups often grow out of this problem but not always, once you get on to the building up driving bit try to go to a very local park

Lamp standard Delux The same company do a few others, google it you may get better results. Fire hazard, I dont know, sorry.

My first thought in that situation is that they had digested something that didnt agree with them and starve them, I would not be overly worried if they was ok in every other way, if it continued being a problem when it was not before then I would be worried.

Put an insulated sleeping box in one corner of the kennel, I have a converted shed that has been lined with ply for my Mastiff and she is fine in all weather, the sleeping box is made from thick ply with an inch gap between sheets, the gap was then stuffed tightly with straw and lid placed on the top.... I also use shredded personal documents ans newspaper for bedding, lol.... Pic of the opening

I have to agree with the above, certainly cant hurt an adult dog that is otherwise healthy.

Dont forget your local vets too, I know around here they also keep lists of missing dogs in case someone brings one in... Really hope you find them.
