  1. What have you lined your collie with SJM ?.
  2. Don't be sorry, it's fcuking true.
  3. Doesn't matter how many nipples, or mammary glands, your bitch has, keep an eye on her and run your hand under her daily and you will notice if there's anything wrong. If you notice any hardening of the mammary gland, strip some milk out (you can use a towel soaked in hot water as a compress) and put one of the bigger pups on the teat. Antibiotics wouldn't go amiss either.
  4. By law a landowner must take steps to control rabbits. That aside, you could take a chance and just ferret the ground but why not lamp the ground you have permission on and catch the rabbits when they're out at night feeding. I actually like it when my permission borders somewhere like this I leave it alone treating it like a living larder hopefully ensuring (disease aside) there's always sport to be had on my side of the fence.
  5. You should be booted off this site now its a HUNTING forum not a showing one So what are you saying mate, you can't be a hunter and show your dog. If that's the case I'm pretty sure there would be a lot more people booted off.
  6. Nice looking dogs mate, I would maybe think about taking their collars off though, just in case they snag on something.
  7. What really pisses me off is the fat gits that bleat about it but do feck all about it, oh and that age old classic, its my genes. No it's not, you eat too much and your a lazy ba**ard.
  8. Might be wrong here mate but I think it can happen with poodles.
  9. A very true and valid point, a lurcherman of bygone years probably wouldn't recognise what is now classed as a lurcher the point and fire type of dogs that seem to be in at the moment.
  10. I suppose it depends on what you consider a worker, as Chalkwarren says very few owners test their dogs to the full. I've been out with dogs that their owners thought were the business and I wouldn't have had them in the kennel but their owners went on to breed from them.
  11. I 'm not looking to stir things up here, I had a Hancock bitch and considered her awell above average dog and I think safe to say that went for anyone who seen her. Was I lucky, maybe, or maybe I'm just easy pleased, would I go back for another, I genuinely can't say because I've seen good, bad and downright crap come out his kennels. BUT this could be said of any breeder. A genuine question for all those who post saying they had one and they're crap, and lets have some honest answers how many other crap dogs have you owned from so called working parents that are conveniently erased from memo
  12. i don't know i'll ask him later , i'm his son You do that and while I'm here is this the same dog you're decrying on another thread ?.
  13. Is this the same bitsa lurcher that was giving a guy an earful at the start of this month about selling his Hancock pup?.
  14. Bit far for you mate, I have an old dog with Holway corbiere, Holway Ruby, Rossmhor of clancallum,Earnsfield teal,Tillwood theseus,Standerwick Roberta of abnalls all field trial champions as well as a few ftws in his pedigree if your stuck and want to travel. Also a son off him seven eighths work, one eighths show.
  15. Whereabouts are you loftmonkey ?.
  16. Have you noticed a whine coming from the back end now though ?.
  17. If your runs need cleaned twice or more times a day then you either need to get your dogs out more or change their diet.
  18. So what are you saying, you're scared of the dark, no offence mate but that's what owning dogs entails. Oh and you might want to think about investing in a television.
  19. Creosoted my double carrying box for my ferrets yesterday, It was made by my first tradesman when I started my apprenticeship in 1980 making it 27yrs old. It's still in great nick and is testament to old Berties workmanship. What' your oldest piece of equipment still in use ?.
