  1. Mate, I don't mean to come across as a smart arse, I've seen threads for sale degenerate because of smart arses and it's genuinely not my intention. But here's what I think (and hopefully others) when I read posts like it, why get rid of such a handy dog to concentrate on another, doesn't make sense to me to get a dog to that standard at that age and get rid of it to start again. Think if your finding work for one dog it shouldn't be too hard to find it for two. If it's as handy as yourself and others say why does it need advertised, doesn't anyone you know want him.
  2. When I say milk I'm not talking pints of the stuff, a little milk along with everything else mentioned on the list will do no harm whatsoever.
  3. do you know once the matings taken place how long the Jill is pregnant for etc Approximately 42 days, so that's that side of it taken care of. jazz, chickens fine, eggs, milk, day old chicks, rabbits, pigeons etc, as a last resort tinned dogmeat or a dry food but better fresh meat. Breed your ferrets mate, it's not rocket science and you'll cope just as well as the resident experts. Milk great if you like cleaning up shit So a drink of milk a day is going to make a difference to the shit corner ?.

  5. Must be a wind up surely, although a couple of weeks from now you'll probably be dishing out advice which seems to be the norm on here. I know I'm not as experienced as some on here, or owned ferrets as long but for what it's worth I've bred just about every incestuous combination possible and never had a deformed kit.
  6. I'll tell you what, you whippet owners aren't half a touchy lot.
  7. So all the pups/dogs/ferrets advertised on here then are shite?.
  8. ............................ so why do we breed bull x's??????? sure it isnt so that they are slow and lumbering....they were bread as hard deer killers...strong jaw.....had them long before they bacame fashionable.....why else would you introduce apbt into a breed??? You tell me. Remind me again why you need a hard dog to kill deer.
  9. A lurcher doesn't need to be aggressive, don't confuse this with being game and it certainly doesn't need to be hard to take deer.
  10. I'm not promoting Hancock and given the choice then I would opt for a pup from working parents, but, if we could guarantee honesty then it would be interesting to see that all the people who failed with a dog from Hancock, how many other dogs they've failed with. Sadly some people have selective memories when it comes to this.
  11. Why is it that lurchers and terriers are so cheap compared to other dogs, you see dogs of various breeds selling for two to three times the price of a well bred hunting dog and all they are required to do is lay by the fire and fart whereas we expect miracles from our canine hunting companions yet they fetch only a fraction of the price. Ask your average hunting man more than a hundred quid for a well bred, well reared pup and you visibly see the colour drain from their face. I noticed pups advertised in the for sale thread for £120 not much response untill they dropped to £50 and then peo
  12. I was assured just last week by a woman who brought her golden retriever bitch to be lined by my stud dog that if a pedigree bitch is mated by a mongrel or a breed different from itself then it was ruined for breeding. Even if it was mated to a dog the same breed as itself at a future date the pups would be mongrels.
  13. Reading the ferreting threads I've noticed the apparent lack of ferreting dogs (or what I would class as a ferreting dog) that seem to be about. Now I know a lot of people can't own a dog for various reasons but from what I can see some people who own dogs and use them for other things don't use them for ferreting or if they do they're basically catch dogs used to catch the odd rabbit that slips the net (and lets be honest a greyhound would fulfill that task). I'm talking about the dog that is a true and reliable marker, marking only inhabited burrows walking past empty burrows, the dog that s

  15. There isn't really any point to cleaning the bitches feet coming back into the yard unless you're doing your own and everyone elses as well.
  16. I've found leaving a radio on down low helps, it breaks the silence and I think settles the pup.
