    spanable

If you can span the dog with your hands, it can get in a hole that size, if it wants to that is!!!
  2. I don't !! she hunt's up.. she's still young and learning..... If I ever take her lamping I'll put a slip lead on her... Half bull, exactly!! what would they have to grip onto if the collar wasn't there... collars allow your quarry to get a purchase... I'm not saying they don't help in certain circumstances, just that they could hinder and cause problems in other ways...... <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Dont take this the wrong way [bANNED TEXT] but it sounds like you dont run the big dogs as much as some of the lads on here... but I wouldnt be with out a collar yo

  4. Collar and lead mate! I've got a young lurcher bitch at the moment and she's of the lead 99% of the time, without collar.
  5. Good posts lads, I'm not knocking anyone, just asking!!! bites on collars are proof that they do the dog no favours though... gives the lil red feckers something to grip on to... I'm 38 soon, and have only ever seen collars injure a dog twice... once on a fence once when it came on top and the dog got his foot in the collar... probably both exceptional circumstances .... but it still makes me cringe when I see them on dogs... oh and it's 5.30am and I just come in from the casino....
  6. Spot on mate ! Even though the lads on here that have posted have never had any problems, Why run the risk ?? are they necessary ?? I've seen a lurcher twat itself on a barbed wire fence because of a collar, years back.... makes me cringe when I see them on your dogs.... not knocking anyone just my opinion.... :friends:
  7. How's Dan doing Dave.... ? Any more pics of him.... <{POST_SNAPBACK}> He's doing rat squirrel etc but not had him to red yet as i have not been able to get out much since i got him due to business and illness, Plus there are not many fox in this area except the one that lives across the road in a neighbours garden which as nearly cost me my front room windows on a couple of occasions walking right past on the bloody street in the early afternoon and letting my lurcher meg see it. Dan as stayed small still spannable hes a bit nervous around strangers but a little t--t w
  8. Collars on Running dogs in the field. are they necessary and why ? Personally I'd never leave a collar on a dog as it can create problems, fences, hedges, summit for the quarry to easily latch on to... Chili I nicked your pic mate hope you don't mind.
  9. What is Armistice Day? Armistice Day is on 11 November. A two minute silence is observed at 11am on 11th day of the 11th month because this is when the Great War, or World War 1, came to end in 1918. Now, this anniversary is used to remember all the people who've died in wars since World War 1. This includes World War 2, the Falklands War, the Gulf War, and conflicts in Bosnia, Rwanda and Kosovo. Lest we didn't know... We can't and shouldn't forget!
